I have not been doing very well so far this month! I have been feeling a bit low and have been spending to make myself feel ‘better’. It hasn’t worked of course and I have ended up just feeling rubbish and disappointed with myself. I WILL make a better attempt of the second half of the month!!
  • Wow I take my hat off to you all! I can't imagine only spending £100 incl food, petrol, doing things! I'm going to attempt only spending £20 on food a week for me nd my oh, but think I'm a long way off £100 for everything. Godd luck, so impressed with u all!!!!

I have had a few unexpected things to pay for and I think I will be a bit over budget but still keeping an eye on the pennies.

  • I haven't done very well either - I am still within my allocated £150 but only just so I will have to tighten up for the 2nd half of the month but can't see me getting through without going over :( however it has made me think twice about spending everytime i get my purse out and has prevented a couple of impulse buys so at least its doing some good!! :)
  • I have just spent a few minutes totting up all the amounts I’ve spent so far thanks to my trusty spending diary and somehow I am already on £175.39. Eeekkk! Target well and truly blown already with 15 days to go. Oops! I am going to revise my target to £240 as I have a few days away in London at the end of the month and I will have essentials to pay for there like the tube which will add up. £40 of that was given from my Mum for money she owed me so, technically…. It’s only a £200 spend as that’s how much will have come out of my account over the month (I hope!). Cheating yes… but there you go… J Really need to do better next month!
  • 168.60 and a week and a half to go :(

Rubbish - I had unexpected costs like the oil light coming on in my car - I had forgotten how expensive oil is but better than a blown up engine I guess ;)

I'll keep my target as £150 for next month and just work at having less of an overspend next month (well none at all i know but lets be realistic!!!)
  • Due to unexpected (and, shamed as I am to admit it) unessential spends I am way over target and need to work out exactly how much by, but I suspect it's a lot. But I have shaved about £200 off my overdraft this month so still heading in the right direction. Albeit it a little slower than I might have wished :)

I have all but given up for this month due to unexpected bills and stuff. Will try again next month. It's made me think about getting out a lump sum on pay day, though, and living off cash. Normally I don't carry cash unless i'm off out for a meal or drinks. but it's true that cash is so much more easy to keep track of than paying by debit card all the time :)
