HSBC PPI -this may be tricky

I sent HSBC a letter about 3 years ago asking them to cancel my PPI and give me a re-fund as I felt it had been miss sold to me.
They replied after a few weeks stating they had looked into my case and felt they had done nothing wrong. I didn't take the case matter any further as at the time I was unaware of the process and it wasn't so well publicised.
Do you think I can try again or have I missed the boat??
After 8 weeks this was not mentioned.

Too late.
You have 6 months to appeal that decision. If you dont appeal it within that period you are then barred from making any complaint again in future about that unless significant new evidence comes to light.
The publicity around the ability to complain is not new evidence.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. OK, but can I ask them to cancel the PPI?.
Also this doesn't effect claiming for other loans with HSBC does it?.0 -

Hi there I'm sure Dunstonh will confirm this, you can cancel but it may not make any difference to the repayments, but please do not quote on me as they all vary.
It should not affect any other claiming to what I know of.
Good luck with this. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

After 8 Weeks I received my response from HSBC today.
" I regret that I am unable to support you claim"
I signed the DNR and had 30 days to cancel the personal Loan Protection Plan.
What now, do I go to the next stage?0 -

Hi there
Yes do keep on at them until the final decision is received, they should let you know if its the final one and details of the FOS should be enclosed if eligible to take your case to them, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

You were lucky they even looked at it. I wonder if your original enquiry never got registered as a formal complaint. If not, then lucky escape.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
