Will I get a full refund on my IPhone?

My spending demons got the better of me yesterday and I made the stupid mistake of ordering a new Iphone for £445 from Apple's website.

After havign the gut feeling in myself that I'd done something stupid, then a very heated argument with my girlfriend learnign how dissappointed she was with me and how I was proving to her just how bad I am with money and waht this means for our future, etc.... The decision's been made that I should return it for a refund.

I understand there is a 14 day period where you can return it, I've not receieved it yet, but when I do, I'll be returning it as soon as possible.

Has anyone else returned one before and do you get a full refund?

I bought it on VISA card, will they just refund directly to the card?

If the item hasn't been despatched yet - you can of course always call them to cancel the order.
Otherwise, as wolvesfan has said, simply call them after you receive your Jesus Phone, and and arrange a return with them.
The DSR's actually state that you need to notify the company concerned within 7 days of receiving the goods, that you intend to return them. Once they have been notified, you then need to ensure that the goods are returned within a reasonable time.
You should also not be out of pocket when you return the item, so Apple - if they don't arrange the return for you, should reimburse you the cost of sending the item back.

Hope this helps....and good luck getting back on track with your GF!

    Thanks guys, good advise.

Really when you think about it, the Ipone is one of theworst thingts you can buy when you're trying to clear your debts. Nothing says "I'm an idiot" more than spending £445 on a phone when you're 22K in debt.

this goes on my list of mistakes, but luckily I can get the money back, just need to convince the girlfriend it was a one off blunder.

I think one thing that will help is that when I get my annual bonus next week, it will all be going on clearing my nationwide debt. Then anything left over goes on the Barclay card balance.

Not true - if Apple have published the return cost on their website then they are free to charge it if you return an item under the DSRs.

Actually, this is true - as Apple haven't published a 'pay for returns at your own cost' policy on their website. They actually state that they will arrange for their own courier to collect the item.
I simply added this information for the OP, in case they didn't do this.

If possible, always pay off debt on the highest % debt....in your case the Natwest one ;)

I'm re-negotiating the natwest debt soon to s lower APR, then I'm planning to overpay it. The reason I want to clear off the nationwide and credit card first is more a psychological one, so that I have just one debt to manage. If I can change the natwest one for a lower, around 8% loan then overpay it each month, I can pay it off very quickly and not pay much interest.

Why don't you simply refuse delivery? That way you don't actually have to pay for return delivery.
