Easyjet flight cancelled - used buses instead.

I've seen many threads regarding outright cancellations but this is slightly different so I hope someone can offer some advice. Easyjet cancelled an internal flight of mine at the weekend and laid on buses instead. They left at roughly the same time as the scheduled flight but arrived at the destination around 7 hours later than scheduled. How do the normal flight cancellation rules regarding refunds, compensation and right to refreshments etc. operate in these circumstances?

Dunno - but the rules are couched in relation to time of departure being delayed. OTH rerouting is supposed to be under comparable transport conditions.
The reason for the cancellation is also relevant.0 -
Thanks guys. My flight was Easyjet 427 from Bristol to Edinburgh on Sunday 14th February at 13:45. I was told at Bristol the flight was cancelled due to a shortage of crew.
I tried to write to Easyjet via their website last night but I'm not sure if it went through - no acknowledgement but no error message either. I'll give it a day or two and try again.0 -
A shortage of crew is entirely their fault, make that claim.0

Result: I heard back from Easyjet yesterday saying a refund of the flight cost had been put through but no mention of compensation. I immediately emailed back referring them to the attachment from the first communication which had contained the information regarding compensation. I also repeated my claim in this email. Roughly an hour later I received a further email saying they could not open a .doc attachment which was what I had sent and that was why they had not responded to it. They went on to agree that I was entitled to compensation and that 250 Euros would be put back onto my card in the next 15 to 20 days.
Thanks all.0
