HTC upgrades - not Mac compatible?

Hi all,
I've been experiencing the poor signal quality issues with my HTC Hero on Orange.
Apparently there's a software upgrade on the HTC website that will remedy the problem.
I've visited the site but the software downloads are only for PCs - and I have a Mac
.
Has anybody else experienced this problem and discovered a resolution?
Grateful for any advice!

FYI the HTC updates from their website directly check your device's serial number and 9 times out of 10 will not install on an Orange Hero and definitely do not install on ANY T-Mobile G2.0
