Mobile Phone iPhone Insurance.
I bought an iPhone 3Gs yesterday, because I bought it outright and have an iPhone simplicity plan I can't attach insurance to through O2.
Does anyone know of an insurer that they can recommend to replace an iPhone for loss, theft, accidental damage, water damage. It's a £460 phone so want to be covered as much as I can.
Ideally low as possible monthly fee, £5-10 with as small as excess as possible and with success of claiming, I don't want a policy that offers insurance but wording effectively says I have to be stabbed and robbed, hospitalised and loss of limbs to pay out.

I get free mobile phone insurance with my bank account. You could maybe with whoever you bank with. I bank with LLoyds. Never had to use the insurance as yet so can't comment on how good it is, but I know its there if I need it, and I'm sure when I registered my N95 with them na year or so ago, they said it was new for old etc. Not sure if that means that you could just choose another phone of similar replacement value etc.
Worth exploring though, as an upgrade to your bank account may cost you less than an outright insurance policy, and you may get other benefits along with it. For instance I also get holiday insurance, and breakdown cover with mine.

I have a student account with natwest and to upgrade my current account would mean i lose an interest free overdraft which I have sat in an ISA earning interest for me. I'm pretty sure that would be the case anyway. I'd just like a monthly directdebit insurance plan. Who has everyone else insured their iPhones with or do you allhave it with your bank accounts?0

Go into Phones4u and get a leaflet on their insurance company.....ring them and they will insure it for £5 a month! Simples......and very good cover.
Or you could just add it to your house insurance....or a bank account0 -
