How can ensure/find out if, my car was scrapped?

But, they cannot " slip the net ", the system is designed so that a car has to be scrapped under the scheme, the dealer has to have a certificate of destruction from a licenced breaker, the V5 has to be forwarded to DVLA with the scrappage documented.
This is exactly what was explained to me when I did it.
No doubt the licensed breakers remove any useful parts just as they would with any other scrapper.0 -

I would think so, as long as the main body of the car ends up in " car heaven ", I would guess there is no problem with selling parts off.;)0 -
There was one example on these forums where a good condition classic car was taken in for scrappage and the dealer stumped up the £1k (Government provides £1k, dealer £1k) from his own pocket instead of scrapping it. Think it was a Morris Minor?! Was sold on Ebay for charity.
That was a Morris Minor Traveller, and as for "good condition" the consensus on the Owners Club forum was that there was something seriously amiss with it and the suspision was that it was a ringer. Early speedo, lights and wiper arrangement (the wiper arrangement being the total giveaway) /minorgeekingProud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0 -
I Saw a nice MK4 Golf appear on eBay near me the other month, Although it looked great the seller advertised the whole car but said he would be chopping the roof off before the sale, and stated he was doing so as it was a car from the scrappage scheme.War does not decide who is right, It decides who is left.0

May not be it's sole purpose but to say it has nothing to do with it is a bit shallow minded.

it has nothing to do with the environment at all, the part you quoted from berr used the word potentially, thats the word to concentrate on.
manufacturing a new car is worse for the environment than just running your old one.
how is trading in a 1.0 corsa for a 3.0 jag even potentially good for our environment.
if the scheme was limited to only the most economical vehicles in every class then it would have environmental sentiment behind it but it didn't,therefore has no effect on the environment except really making it worse and using up more raw materials....work permit granted!0 -

I think my original point of view got lost in the weeds somewhere. From the outset my stance was that I don't buy into any of this eco nonsense which has been promoted as a benefit of scrappage.0 -

It may well have been from the Nissan so called Scrappage Scheme, which isn't part of the official scheme, just hyped up sales pitch.0
