• You sound just like me, I have lists for everything. Ok so cup of tea it is then I'll write a list, got plenty to do outwith my debts so I'll have plenty to tick off when I'm having a bad day, like today. Thanks, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart to you and everyone who has helped me tonight.

If you're worried about calling them then maybe it's better to wait til they write back to you, which I'm sure they will soon as you've sent the letters recorded so you know they've got them. At least then you'll have everything in writing as well. Could CCCS help you deal with this, do you think?

I'm sure the worst outcome is you end up on a meter, clearing the debt gradually. That isn't the end of the world.

Call CCCS and call Scottish Power to ask when they will reply to your letters. See if you get a human who can help you, if not just ask who their system shows is dealing with your letters, then note it down and say "bye!".

You have reduced your debts loads, just hang on in there and keep riding out these blips.

• I think they probably would but I don't want to disrupt my DMP again. I think I'll give Scottish Power till the end of the week to reply then I'll take it from there. I can't believe they've just gone straight to debt recovery instead of contacting me first!

• A pre-payment meter I can deal with. Thanks again, I'm off to bed now, got a terrible head ache,it's all my thoughts bursting to get out.

• Hi, haven't got much advice to offer but I hope you are feeling better after a good nights sleep. As everyone said, there is a light at the end of the tunnel somewhere....
Don't feel silly unburdening on here.... I'm not a huge poster, more lurker, but have needed to rant recently and everyone has been lovely. Please please don't do anything rash, there is always someone to talk to and always someone who has been in a worse position and come through to the other side xx

I'm not really struggling with my DMP and budget at all but whenever I start to feel comfortable with it something awful happens to me. I just don't see any light at the end of the tunnel right now. There's so many things I've been doing to help my situation and I felt like I was really getting somewhere but it's just a huge mess. Maybe i just feel like it's too much right now because I've lost my mum.

I don't have an SOA at hand right now, but I do stick to it usually. I list lots of things on ebay and i've made a little bit of money from it so I will continue to do it. I've also put in 2 complaints to the FOS regarding bank charges I was reclaiming from RBS and Lloyds as I could prove financial hardship. I was also thinking about asking for all my CCA's and find out if the debts are enforceable but my motivation has gone right out the window. What can I do just to pick myself up again to get started? I thought I was doing so well.

Hi rachelfleur, sorry to hear about the loss of your mum, I lost my lovely dad just before christmas.

You are still grieving and sometimes this comes out in odd ways like losing your motivation for things, or finding yourself unable to cope with things that were fairly routine before.

I hope I'm not talking out of place but it might be worth speaking to your doctor. It's sometimes easier to talk to someone outside the family as you know your not putting any burden on them.
Hope your feeling better, you are in my prayers.

Hi rachaelfleur

Sorry to hear about the upset caused at this difficult time. Please be assured that you can speak with us to resolve this matter amicably.

It is very strange that you have written to us on so many occasions without a single reply. If we have received your letter and not responded to it then you are entitled to a guaranteed standard payment of £20.00.

As you are obviously online, the best way for you to communicate with us if you do not like talking on the telephone, is to send an email. This way you can keep a record of all the information you give to us. Your email will be responded to within 5 working days (normally much sooner than this). The email address is:

customer.services@scottishpower.co.uk

The first thing that we need to arrange is an account for you so that you can set up a plan to pay for the gas and electricity you are using and then take it from there. I would do this as soon as you can. If no payment arrangement was put in place, I doubt that we would disconnect your supply, instead we would install prepayment meters to cover the gas and electricity being used and to clear a percentage of the debt each week.

If you would like me to look into this for you then send me your details and I will see what I can do for you.

Kind Regards
