I remember how hard it was to quit - I smoked from the age of 11 (silly silly) and quit at 21.
I loved smoking and didn't want to quit but a charity walk up Ben Nevis nearly killed me and I had already booked a holiday to trek the High Atlas Mountains in Morrocco leaving 4 weeks later. So quit the fags, and hit the gym every night for a month and somehow made it through the 2 week trek without dying!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

The non-smoking is 'ok' - day 3 now. The tablets definately help the cravings - almost non-existent but the habit is hard to break.
However, DH and I argued most of the weekend, including in front of my family at my b/day tea - not good!! The good thing is I didn't smoke! He is now full of apologies and once again telling me all will be well. He is not the most positive person in the world and loves to be sarcastic and most days I don't let it bother me......but this weekend was not one of those days and I let rip like you do.
Result....bed made, dishes done, NSD from him! (When will they realise that doing the things they are supposed to do only when we lose the plot makes us most pee'd off because then we KNOW they see the mess!)
RICHARD has also annoyed me - statement today owed £3731.94, now owing £3582.82 which is good. This months min payment £97.79 - interest due £91.23!!!!!!!! He is a B**TARD!
Thinking of paying interest only on mortgage for a year to try and clear some debt quickly. Any thoughts?LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.

Are you able to get a 0% Balance transfer card and transfer Richards debt onto it? That was whatever you pay each month will come off the balance.
I'm not very good with mortgage advice, it seems like a good idea to go interest only and concentrate on the debts but make sure you know what your doing first. x12/04/2019

:T You are doing amazing with the no smoking are you putting the money you save to one side or Richard
Not sure about the mortgage have you spoken to them to see what the options are, thats what i did when sorting the car out, are your payments upto date and do you have much equity in your house.
Have you managed to perch yourself on the scales today
I know where your coming from on the interest front it gets me too if I could get rid of interest life would be so much easier.MARCH 2016 DEBT £25750/ £25035

Bl**dy h*ll RMC.. I got way behind on my diariy reading and the last I looked, you'd only just started! Look at you go now!
Well done, wobbles and all! I don't have an OH so I can only shout at myself. And berate my friend's for silly spending! I think they're sick me saying "On MSE..." or "did you know you could get that cheaper..." or "that interest is way too high, have you tried..."
I see their eyes gaze over and realise it's just us lot. Thankfully my diary get's the brunt of it.
Keep up the good work!Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

Def No to scales - disaster but hey still 9 days to end of month!!
I am totally up to date on payments, and they are telling me there is no equity on house, which of course is not true, but I am not paying for a survey to prove them wrong IYSWIM. Our fixed rate ended in January and they would offer us nothing due to LTV rate and yet when we re-mortgaged with them 2 years ago the LTV was 65%!!!
As for the non fag money - not doing anythign with it as I am just not taking it out of bank or scrimpering round house looking for pennies - but I do have £70 hidden in a tin that I would have gone to, to get cigs. The whole point is that I didn't have the money to smoke and smoked anyway! However, maybe I will notice some extra to throw at Richardo!LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.
