Goodgoodgood! Am glad your red-haired neice will be OK, and that your brother is happy.

Know what you mean about refocusing on the pennies: I've had a bit of a mad one, too, this past month, and I really need to sort it out this time round.

  • I am feeling very guility for not being here! I am in 'avoidance mode' which is terrible because it includes not checking bank balances either.

I can't really explain why I am doing this but I am once again filled with dread and trying to stick my head in the sand, for which only I will suffer.

DH did manage to come to arrangement with B'card, reduced interest for 6 months. Halifax aren't budging.

Business is slowing up, as is typical for us from now to March, but will find out this weekend if it is same as last year or less. Definately feels like less. Now emphasis is on reducing costs for the same period! I am taking two weeks off at Xmas and the only chore I have set myself is to clear the bakery. DH is very untidy (although obsessed with hygiene, go figure) and I need to get a handle on what is in there and how to deplete residue stock ASAP.

Neice is back at school and hobbling well. She is happy because she is allowed to wear PE Kit to school, very cool :)

DH sold some computer stuff and got £150 so yesterday I bought some gifts. God, it is hard work walking around Boots ensuring you are get best value on 3 for 2's! However it ended with me spending £121.99 and saved £48 so I almost got it perfect :) I have set a budget for the gifts and so far I am on track. Still have more to get and of course they are the expensive one's but we have VAT return coming mid December and I have deliberately not allocated that so it should cover remaining presents and get us thru' Jan.

It snowed here last night, not much but a mile from our house is the highest peak on the hills and DH said it was bad when he came down last night. We could be stuck! It is flipping freezing mind you............we have metal pipes but not sure it is cold enough to leave heating on full time yet.

Missed WW last two weeks, one due to work the other due to being a prat. However I am a resolve to go at full throttle this week to give myself a push. So far I have lost 13.5lbs (dub .5 off a stone) I had said I would 22.5lb by Xmas, which of course I now won't but if I lose 6.5lb that will be 20lbs, whoops up that to 7.5 and then I get another silver 7 - sucker that I am!

well done for coming back Red. I've also had stages where i don't come on here and it means i'm not checking the bank and trying to hide the fact that i've not been a good girl but it never helps and it's always a relief to come back here and get stuck in again.
Well done for the bargains in Boots, i'm off chrisy shopping today with OH, not got many left to get to be honest but WILL finish them today.
  • Enjoy the end of the nightmare LT!!

Woo i dream of days with heating, i've got the calor gas on in the living room but it's still freezing. Think it was 12 in here when i got up, which i supose is warmer than outside but for heavens sake i'm indoors!
  • LOL Woo, we have it on 2.5hrs a day! But we do have an open fire too, which is lit every night.

Our house is so drafty it honestly is a waste of money having heating on when we are downstairs so I just set it for morning when we waken and then at tea time to take 'nip' out of the hair and then again for bedtime. The rest of the time we are locked up in living room!

  • I need to get my mom an 'ActiFry' (thats for xmas for her and daddy) and then for her bday I need a wireless printer. My siblings will share the cost of both items. Anyone any idea's of bargains?

Also my SIL has a Wii and I was thinking of getting them Wii Party, but since I don't have one, I have no idea if that is a good or naft present. I could buy BIL and SIL seperately for cheaper but I have no idea what to get them and this is the easy option. So is it good or naft?

My sister - nightmare, she wants 'lots of small things', so far designer chocolate and a passport cover.........................another £40 to spend (we have a deal, DH and bro buy each other and sis and I buy each other, total spend £50 each)

And neices want 'adult baby gro's' which I have to go to Primark for - NIGHTMARE!

I am pleased that all Xmas has come for 'extra money' which is very re-assuring.

Guilty of having my heating come on when it dips below a certin temperature. However having been frugal the last couple of years and not switching it on, has made for an exceedingly damp house, now we have a bit of leeway its coming on. However did still have ice on the inside of the windows this morning.
