Good news on the watch...I asked you to check there last week ..lol...glad you found it...

Great thinking going on re your business and forward planning...the key is having a buffer for the lean months but not always possible.Never easy running a business is it?..you are doing a fantastic job.

You did ask me to check there and I did but not well enough obviously - I am so happy to find it!

Yes, to get ahead for quiet months would be such as asset and allow us to make the most of the 'good' times next year

Running a business is so difficult - you have to reflect, project and manage every day, which always throws up something unexpected!

So true....we are looking at cost cutting as well re the repair bills at the moment.
Repair bills and fuel are our biggest outlay...we usually have servicing done at dealership but are going to try an independant garage.
All the savings will mount up over a year.
Good luck with finding cheaper packages...do they do discount on bigger orders maybe? or a discount for prompt payment? Are there many suppliers on the net and can they send you boxes to examine the quality before pklacing the order?

DH has asked some to send samples to compare

We are up against it re payment because we don't have spare cash to bulk buy at the moment but will have to find a way to do that soon. He bought up what was left of old ones, so that gives us a month and will save that money towards buying new ones and am sure I will be able to scrape together some other pennies as always!

Well sigs updated......................finally under £10k with business debt, which I am very happy about

Total debt at 01/03 was £55706.01 and now its £47631.74 - so thats £8075.27 in 5 months and (LOL) I have probably paid another £2k in interest.

Messed about with snowball last night and if I keep going (i.e. paying the same amount but to personal from Sept) I should be DF in 2 years.

That does not allow for payrises (even though I work for Public Sector and will get pay freeze, I still get my increments - not massive but something) and I have not included mileage claim because the fluctuate so much but can be as much as £300 a month.

But also on the negative it does not allow for business 'shocks' e.g. I know the van will need replaced within the next 2 years for sure.

Question - I need to create that 'buffer' I keep talking about but I was thinking of doing it via credit union, which will allow us to borrow if a crisis arises, but at a much better interest rate and not added up front. But more importantly our savings are protected. There are credit unions in England, aren't there?
