The people I mentioned at Vagina Monologues were told to be quiet several times and by several members of the audience. They just ignored them and continued chatting and giggling anyway - hence the theatre staff becoming involved. What a shame not everyone is respectful of other people whilst out in public.

I find that telling them not to talk has more success than asking nicely. If you ask nicely then they seem to think that they are not doing anything wrong, and is you that is being fussy. I am not advocating being rude, just firm.

I've recently had concerts ruined by people shrieking and laughing throughout - even the massive PA system didn't drown them out. Honestly, if you're just going to get drunk and giggle a lot, do it in a pub somewhere and don't waste £25 of your money AND mine by shouting over loud music!

The worst are the morons who sing and stamp along to the music. If I go out to see a live performance, I really don't want to listen to a bunch of morons performing crap karaoke.

Strangely I find this is worse with more mature audiences - if I go to see an 80's act, the worst perpetrators are beer bellied 40 somethings and their blonde slapper girlfriends. Younger acts with younger audiences are actually better behaved - I think it's because the youngsters are so besotted with the music that they actually shut up and listen. Either that or the bands just have louder amps :)
  • I have a three step plan

    1) I ask them nicely to stop talking.

2)I ask them again to stop talking as it is spoiling the enjoyment of the film for myself and other people.

3)I stand in front of them and in a louder voice ask them if they want to discuss the film further, would they like to step outside with me for an intimate one to one discussion.

So far no one has taken me up on option 3 and have chosen to shut up. Mabye it's because i'm a nice guy or mabye it's because i'm 6ft 4in tall and weigh about 19 st. Grin

Ooooooooo, isn't it irritating? I am a Leeds Rhinos season ticket holder & last season I got increasingly infuriated with people (mostly young girls) yattering all the way through & not watching the game. Shhhh! I'm trying to watch

These people have more money than sense - 15 quid to go stand out in the rain with your mates & have a chat??!!
