tiscali bill from 2007 - help needed! :(

Hi basically i have rcvd a bill from tiscali via a solicitor saying i owe 285.00 for services from 2007. I know i cancelled in March 2007 when i took virgin media for broadband but i cant get in touch withy anyone at tiscali - now talk talk to discuss and my bank cant go back to 2007 to see the last dd date. The old statements they sent just have direct debit on not tiscali,... so i cant use that as prove of payment

I am totally lost and am getting no where fast!

The solicitor says i need to pay but that dosent seem fair when i know i have paid. Plus this is the first time i have been contacted by anone including Tiscali!!?? Please help with any advice
