Nokia 3120
Can anyone help with a problem with this phone please?
The screen just goes completely dark about 30 seconds after I've used it. I have to press a key in order to be able to see if the battery is still ok or if I have a signal.
This probably sounds trivial but its really annoying me - every phone I've ever owned previously always showed the Menu, remaining battery length and signal strength quite clearly whenever it was on standby. Its as if the screen isnt lit up?
I've gone to the Display settings menu and changed the brightness as far down as it will go...is there a contrast setting or some way of keeping the screen back lit?
Thanks

all nokias go dark after about 30 secs and you need to press a button to turn backlight on again.
you should still be able to see the battery/signal logo although it will be dark
is there nothing on the screen at all?0 -
Yes I can just about see it. (If I squint hard!) Looks like I will have to learn to live with it. I've just come back to Nokia after trying a few others - I had a 3330 (I think it was) about 7 years ago and was the best phone I ever owned - should have kept that.

you could try a different colour from the display settings - may make it a bit better0

This is a problem with many colour displays especially in bright sunlight. Not only when the 'screensaver' has kicked in but also when trying to view normally in a bright location. I have a Nokia 1100 (black and white display) which I take on holiday to sunny countries because you can read the display at all times. Not a fancy phone though but works well.HH62 wrote:Yes I can just about see it. (If I squint hard!) Looks like I will have to learn to live with it.
