I'll be saving around 28% on Ebico, compared to the EDF Standard tariff that I was put on when moving in.
These are all my own figures, based on the SWEB supply region:
Electricity 1000kWh, EDF £176.45, Ebico £136.70
Gas 3550kWh, EDF £224.93, Ebico £130.50
EDF have various discounts (direct debit etc) £32.48
EDF Total: £368.90, Ebico Total: £267.20 - Saving £101.70 (27.6%)
The only caveat is that I've assumed equal usage over the whole year on my gas, which could skew EDF's figures into the more expensive side. However, the figure I've used to calculate gas usage is based on my average from October to January, so should be much lower in the summer months.
Electricity usage is very low as I only use: fridge/freezer, washing machine (twice a week), laptop, TV and energy saving lights. I normally charge my laptop away from home during the day, so that saves about 2 hours worth of electricity.0 -

Ah, but at that time (Sep/Oct) surely if you had changed to EDF's non-standard online saver tariff that would have only cost £250-odd until this July?
(I admit that this was an anomaly and EDF rather quickly ditched that tariff structure.)0 -

And surely they should have a restriction on the number of times per year a household can claim £110 cashback for a dual fuel switch to them. But they don't. Shrug.
I would agree with a limit or even banning cashback all together. Given the Scottish Power example it looks like there is too much variabality hidden from the comparison so I wouldn't be surprised if there was a clampdown on it. Thanks for the heads up btw.0
