I thought lots of people on this board would enjoy sharing this couples good fortune!

Absolutely.
Incidentally G, your next post is your 30,000th.
Astound us with an amazing revelation. Fascinate with a weird fact. Make it special.
Ack.... your post now shows 30,000 posts but no sign of your next post. Stupid system. Oh well, I'm sure it was great.0 -
Unbelievable that he just logged on to check his lottery account and there is 56 million quid sat there. I don't think I would be shaking like that that though, I would be perfectly still, laid on the floor, but perfectly still!0

Nah. I'd only be told I was actually talking about ice creams when talking about hippos and that I'm wrong to think I'm talking about hippos, and wrong if I agree I'm talking about ice creams
And then chucky will tell me I'm actually talking about daffodils and I don't understand daffodils.
And then I'll have to do something for my 40,000th after we have got through that little match.0 -
Well done them :T
She reminded me of lady Di a bit.
I hope they haven't made a mistake by going public.0 -
What an amazing win!
Did anyone notice she said to him "you've won" rather than "we've won". They're not married. What're the laws like for co-habitating non-married couples in the UK? In Aus they'd have the same rights as married couples if they split.
Hopefully it won't matter for them, as they seem like a nice couple. Still, I wouldn't go public.0 -

Of course it's a mistake...... IMO.
It seems most people's desire for that 15mins of fame is far stronger than being able to live peacefully for the next 10 years.
As for the "not moving far" bit.... you'd soon get tired of people knowing you as the lottery winners and asking for help and move somewhere for a fresh start.0 -
What would you do with that sum of money though?
I'd probably give £46m of it away pretty quickly, in terms of good causes.
Couldn't handle all that just being given to me.0 -

Yeah I reckon lots of people would say that but very few would. Not having a pop, just it's easy to say and hard to do I reckon.
I have to admit I don't think I would. Sure £10-20m to friends, family and charity but I think I'd keep most.
I'm sure that disgusts plenty of the righteous but I'm just being honest. I can think of plenty of stuff I'd like to do/buy and £10m ain't gonna last long when you set your sights as high as the stuff you can consider with £56m0
