    I'm with you Jellyhead.

Off to cinema with kids courtesy of Tesco Clubcard so could stretch to getting this meal deal for us and have the sweets as the treat for the film.

Thanks to OP-it has brought a previously unknown part of the meal deal to me.:T

This is always our treat, we take a picnic to the cinema in the form of a boots meal, didn't realise about the large sweets bag but we tend to like the cakes. I tend to use the boots points deals over christmas and build them up, so we get free cinema from Tesco and free lunch from boots during the year.

It's definitely a central london price and some of the surrounding area but not all of greater london, I think some other big cities are the same and all Boots in all UK airports are pricer regardless if the local boots are the cheaper price (I learnt this the hard way!). For the snacks one of my local boots says it's only snacks under ??£1.35?? and I was hoping to get the trio of cadbury cream eggs (this worked last year) but somehow the price of them has gone up in this one store.....I've had too many 'discussions' before with them so I wouldn't want to try these larger bars here as they probably wouldn't even try to put it through. I've tried those olives too and they are yummy.

the under £1.35 thing was overlooked in certain stores eg. in buchanan galaries in glasgow you could basically get any kind of sweets/ chocolate even the big bags of maltesers at £1.89 but now certain stores have caught on and are now refusing to put it through the till :rotfl:. also in certain stores eg the one in central station in glasgow they dont stock the big bags of sweets . good deal though me and my uni friends used to have competitions about who had saved the most !!!........................:j :rotfl:

This will come around again, it always works with the BOGOF drinks.
  • Update having been to cinema - counldnt see the big bags of sweets in St Enoch's Boots, Glasgow but did manage to get 2 7UP drinks each so thanks for that. Still enjoyed our cinema picnic even without the big bag of sweeties.

Will remember this for future both as cinema munchies and as flight meal. Great ideas.
If only I could stop finding good bargains on this site, I would save a fortune! :rotfl:

Oooh I wonder if there's ever going to be a bogof on the big bags of sweets and if they'll work too. Worth a try if you ever see them on offer.

Only drinks on 241 was 7 up and that was out of stock. This has been for the last 2 weeks. Also they have stopped stocking the boxes of 3 cream eggs. I think it's a deliberate ploy in my local to withdraw all the bargains.
  • What's happened to the Shapers sandwich of the month. There was usually a veggie and a non-veggie version, but my Boots has only had the non-veggie one for the last few months, so I've been sticking to the good old Bugsy pack.

Last year there was a bogof on the big bags of Cadbury's choccie buttons that worked with the meal deal.

HGLTsuperstar, the Mexican style spicy bean wraps are delicious if your local stocks them, they are veggie, not sure about the calorie count though :)

Thanks for telling me about the bags of sweets! Now instead of healthy grapes I've just munched a big bag of minstrels!!! :o

The SA was about to tell me I couldn't have them cos they were over £1.35 but I pointed out that there is in fact a little sign above the hanging bags saying 'I'm in the meal deal' :D

Also got a yummy blackcurrant lemonade which was really lovely. Thanks!
