Well you did not search for British Gas either on their own website which lists the number I gave you or on saynoto0870 as you would otherwise of found it.
Had you done so, then you would have found what you were looking for. You just wanted others to do the work for you.0 -
My wife says I waffle when explaining, but, as I'm now in the realms of giving chapter and verse, here goes.
I googled for ages to try and find a number for myself.
I phoned both British Gas & Southern Electric to ask for a number and they agreed with me, that 99% of mobiles charge for 0800 and during a house move, 50% of people will be forced to use a mobile and that arriving in a new town, to hunt for a phonebox is not something a 70yr old should be doing.
I searched the saynot00870 website and posted a request.
www.moneysavingexpert.com was my last resort and in doing so, encountered rudeness.
I think this answers all your rude comments Kim - things are not always how you first perceive them. Perhaps in future you give people the benefit of the doubt before you jump on your band wagon!!!:jBefore doing something... do nothing0 -

I understand you being upset by Kim's approach and you are right, she is an obnoxious !!!! at times, but you have the internet and couldn't be arsed to do any work for yourself could you ?
Yes, I have noted and used your most welcome number which as you rightly say, is on their website but in my haste, had made an error when writing down initially.
As for the other number, again I had found myself, that is not usable now. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
How did this thread get 13 replies with no mention of 0800 buster!? Do none of you even read the weekly tips? (Not referring to you OP)

You dial a landline number (01/02) which then asks you to dial an 0800 number. Costs the same as calling any other 01/02 number. Simple.0 -
Guilty as charged. Although I read Martins newsletter every week, that site has eluded me. I've just had a peep and it looks great, so once I've read it through, I will shout it from the rooftops. Wouldn't it have saved a lot of words if only this old geezer had known about it.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. It's one thing when one person forgets some moneysaving that was in the newsletter a few weeks/months ago. It's another thing when said person makes a thread about it and it takes 100+ views and 14 replies for someone to come up with the right answer.0

But never mind. You and we now have the satisfaction of knowing that the site is there. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
islandman had a very valid question, perhaps KimYeovil doesn't have a contract phone whereby you have £30 in unused credit then end up paying £5 a time to phone for a necessary service, I spent £30 in a few hours just on simple enquiries when companies could have displayed their geographical phone numbers in a obvious place so that you don't have to spend hours on the internet searching for it or waste money on 0800#s.0
