International calls using free minutes?..

I phoned the simplyfone number using my vodafone xnet minutes thinking ti was free, but was charged 35p per min . When I queried it they state the xnet mins are only to standard uk mobiles and dolphin , whose number the 077... number is , is not a standard uk mobile therefore effectively tough luck.
Anyone had joy with vodafone and if so did you have to bully them into accepting that you could phone the mobile number using your xnet mins?
As earlier mentioned here by a few posters...... the 07744974333 is accepted by vodafone itself as included minutes etc.. but i read that the vodafone re-sellers like Singlepoint & dialaphone etc.. may charge.
Del Boy...you gotta presumably check with these guys first.something missing0 -
Having read other threads ref this subject can any MSE help me,
Can you use your free xnet mins with o2 to make international calls using the Simply phone route ie 0774 number or do they charge like Voda???
Have read on this thread that Voda do not accept 0774 nos as normal/usual mobile numbers does o2 do the same???

I have an online O2 contract tariff. I can call 0870/084X numbers using my included minutes, which allows me to call many international destinations for free. Check Niftylist for a comparison of international call services. I have very few Xnet minutes so haven't tried 0774. I have heard that some people on O2 don't have free access to 0870/084X number so check your own tariff, or make a short test call and see how it appears on your bill - this only takes a day or so for online customers.
Hope this helps.Nice to save.0 -

YES. u can & 02 don't charge for these calls. Nor do Orange, t-mobile etc...
i've been charged by vodafone but always received credit upon complaint

Can anyone help, I'm on Orange on 200 Xnetwork minutes, I've been using the 07744974333 to phone a pakistan mobile, but after a months use I've been sent a bill charging me for all the calls made. According to the 'Simply Fone' website, calls can be made to Pakistan mobiles after 7am, which i've done. In the bill I'm not charged for the initial 07744974333 call, but once the Pakistani mobile number is entered the charging begins.
Any help appreciated.0 -
Miser_maz,
did you press the send key on your mobile again after dialling in the international number? This has been done by a few people and is effectively dialling the number from your network provider and not using simply fone....and then the window licker said to me...0 -
Thanks knuckledragger, I've realised why I've been charged for these calls, I'm off now to wring the wifes neck (full pun intended).0
