Missymac, I find it difficult to believe that you thought this thread would be about people's experiences of the different resorts. Did you not read any of the earlier posts in the thread? With the exception of Littleholly, the thread is split into those who have had bad experiences with Clubseasons, & a few plants saying its great, try it.

As for thinking this is a cheap way to get a holiday, its pretty plain to see this is an unethical company, and to put money into their hands to keep them going while they sign up people to their full packages is, IMHO, not right. I couldn't possibly countenance that arguement as anything other than 'promoting' clubseasons.

As for the arguement, this is only 1 year though, anyone unlucky enough to fall for their spiel, such as Turbogran, Hrafndot's mum or my inlaws, show its a company to stay very far away from. If, by these forums, we stop one person from giving money to clubseasons, we will have done a good turn.

If you've committed your money for this year, then you won't be able to get it back, even if you decided today that you didn't want to go in Aug (how many travel agents or hotels would get away with that?) and I doubt whether you would get anything back from your travel insurance either. But if you've spent your money, and you can't get it back, you might as well go & enjoy yourself as best you can.

So far I have had the weekend down in Bude, booked another one in Whitbarrow on May Bank holiday weekend as well as a week in Spain in mid July. There was no salesman to try and flog us anything - yes we were invited to a welcome meeting but declined. No pressure to do anything we didn't want to. Yes there is an annual charge but compared to week abroad its not expensive. Ok flights are on top but is it any different to renting an appartment privately which would certainly be more expensive than £2-300. A weekend away for 4 at £200 for three nights = £17 perhead per night. Good quality accommodation and surroundings. And no I'm not one of their empoyees either.

Hi, you'd better watch out 'promoting' clubseasons on here especially as its your 1st post - you'll be shot down! We've not long been back from Whitbarrow and its great if you like outdoor activities such as walking etc, not much for us to do with an 8 year old and an 11 month old but the accomodation was excellent. You do know that the leisure centre will be closed from April as its being refurbished? Hope you have a good time.

Anybody else think its part of a PR campaign to persuade sceptical people to at least try it? How long before we get another new poster?

Unless this is a wind up, here we go again.......... another newbie trying to persuade readers its a good deal. Ignoring the prize you have to pay for, the extortinate annual charges, the inability to cancel, etc etc.

Sniff... sniff...sniff.. looks like it as well!

I don't think we newbies are trying to persuade anyone of anything

We are just wanting to share experiences. And yes, get a bit of reassurance that there isn't a pitfall we haven't seen.

And has anyone been to the Irish resort or Clowance in Cornwall?

The problem with the company is the sneaky way that they get people to sign up. You've won a competition ~ but its going to cost you £xxxx each year.

Skimming over the prize that you have to pay for, annual charges that go up & up, unable to cancel but saying how fantastic the accomodation & locations are but they're not employees..........

Maybe they're too tight to go to Max Clifford for proper PR advice....
