Congrats EL! That's great news!2015 comp wins - £370.25
Recent wins: gym class, baby stuff
Thanks to everyone who posts freebies and comps! :j0 -
Thanks Liz - it's Brighton so the prices are high but at least we will enjoy the summer in the garden, as we did last summer... a novelty for the 2nd summer running!
The new landlady (same age as us) is renting her property and buying another, we are trying to not be green with envy! She has heard of the new deposit law and says it would not be a problem to do it for us which makes us very relieved.
Just noticed I have FOUR stars as of today, whooooooo!MFW #185

I'll be guessing that you're the four starrer with the highest proportion of posts on a single thread.
And the most read.
Congrats on both (four stars and flat).0 -
Probably right nrsql! Already looking round our flat and deciding'that can go', 'that's too old to take with us' etc - so many excuses... She is leaving her trendy furniture - it's not something we'd normally do as we have our own furniture, but looked so nice we said ok! She has designed her own kitchen, Neff oven and all - plus *gasp* a dishwasher - which I have never had the luxury of using! I cook and Mr EL is the dishwasher most of the time ha ha...MFW #185

Hi EL, I'm soo happy for you! :j
It's always fun getting a new place.
Just finished draft one of the reply to my landlady, had to leave it a week because I couldn't face it and had other things going on (annoying neighbors) but glad I've got it done now and will get partner to look over it when he gets back from work.
Wish we could have a dishwasher but there's just no room for one  My sister brags about hers all the time. My mum has one as well but doesn't use it because of the running cost!Mum to DD born Oct 2009

I would prefer a freezer to a dishwasher but we have no choice. Means my bulk-cooking will suffer!MFW #185

Just spent all evening reading this post only to find out its not over yet.
Nightmare
My tenant moved out today from my house in Plymouth after three years. Needs a total redecoration, some carpets need replacing, two window handles broken and a few other things. Fair wear and tear. Comes off next years tax bill. Whats the problem? Full deposit of £525 refunded even though it is not fit to let straight away. The LL is just a crook. Some people have no morals.
Good luck0 -
Thanks Sparky29 and welcome! Yeah we still have 2 months until court date...
New landlady has e-mailed today saying she will be registering with the new scheme which is fab!MFW #185

Your new landlandy must be a good one, just make sure you keep her on track if she hasn't done it before and you shouldn't have any problems
Just emailed my old landlady today, we said she could deduct £100 from our original deposit, as a gesture of good will to avoid having to go to court and to close the matter. My boyfriend is the type that wants the easiest way out of everything, he wanted me to offer £150, I didn't want to offer anything but in the end we agreed £100. Will let you know if she goes for it.Mum to DD born Oct 2009
