Going ex directory, is it worth it?

Not a lot on the BT web site about becoming ex-directory so before I ring them I wondered what people thought? I have various services upon my line but still the odd but becoming more frequent sales calls are getting through, such as number unavailable or international calls. Is it a free service? (I guess not knowing BT)…

Hi, I used to work for Directory Enquiries and quite regularly got calls from people trying to get a hold of relatives etc when there had been some kind of crisis (ie death in the family or something). Obviously, we were not able to help. It really put me off ever going ex-dir. Personally i wouldn't do it unless there was a very good reason for it.
