Hi,
on a BT Yahoo 2mb fixed line just now, want to upgrade to a BT Wholesale Max package to get 'up to 8mb' as the speed checkers all seem to have a high reading
have been quite happy with BT but we pay line rental to another provider so apparently there is no other package available from BT now unless we go back to them for line rental (on my 'account page' it states I am on 'BT Total Broadband option 4', I assume this is only used for old customers as it's not advertised on their website?), I was hoping it could just be upgraded to a Max package but don't think this is possible....
also wanted to stay with BT to keep my current email addresses but have read I can still keep them when moving to another ISP, maybe having to pay 1.50 a month for them though
also....do any of the 'gaming' packages some isp's offer really improve pings ? none of them seem an option due to the low download limits but would consider if there was a real improvement

Would need to know what was available on your exchange before any possible ISP could be recommended. Plus who do you pay your line rental to?
Check out SamKnows.

BT Wholesale and BT Wholesale Max is all that's available....
line rental/calls are to onebill0 -

You dont need to change your line rental back to BT.
Call BT customer options team (0800800030 opt 1) You will need your BTinternet/openworld email address. They will offer you a cheaper price and the speed increase.(They can also give you a MAC if you want to move to another isp)0 -
thanks, will try that tomorrow, does it remain as a 50gb download limit?
unlimited would be nice0 -

Depends on your usage. the advisor can check your usage and tell you what you used over last 6 months.
from your earlier post it looks like your not on an unbundled exchange so best offer BT would make is £19.99 for option 3 with free hub and phone with usage being unlimited with a 100gb fair use policy. Or option 2 with 20gb £15.99 a month or option 1 with 10gb £12.99 a month
Plusnet offer cheaper broadband in non llu areas so may be worth lookin at them but they are owned by BT. Or post office home phone and broadband is available anywhere so may be worth a look0 -
got through on that number on monday, best they could offer was £24.99 a month for the option 3 package, 12 month contract! not had any troubles with BT so far so just went with it
no mention of hub or phone but I think that's because we pay for line rental/calls through Onebill
guy said up to 5 days to switch over to the max package, so hopefully all goes well
anyone know if i need to change any settings on my router so it recognises the 'faster' speed or do i just leave everything as is and it'll get faster? (hopefully)
