Sounds like you were down Regent Road. For good chips go the opposite way and go to the right after Pizza Hut and this brings you into the town centre and market square where the chip vans are !!!yummy.
l dont know how you got lost going to Lowestoft as its a straight road lol, l imagine you went to far. You dont really want to go any further than Sommerfeild supermarket which is on a big roundabout in the town. Just behind that to the right is the main shopping area.0 -
thanks for that. the chippy/cafe was on a corner and looked like it was run by greeks. our fish was kite shaped and bright yellow. i kept laughing and saying people were going to far with the organic stuff feeding fish corn.
It was one of them, you peel off the batter and scraped the fish out and push it around your plate for a bit. The kids went so mental after the milshake my two year old bit me and then decided to attack his four year old sister with a badminton racquet!
i'll give the other chippies a try later in the week, as for now, I'm off to scatby beach (?) to try and run some energy off the kids and build a monster sandcastle. Might even post a picture later!I am a Mortgage Adviser

Theres 2 like that and one is slightly worse than the other. Was it opposite KFC or further down regent road? Whichever one you went in I know what you mean. The fish and chip shop on the pier opposite regent road is nice. Thats where we usually go. Don't go to Harry Ramsden's as it's overpriced just because of the name.MortgageMamma wrote:thanks for that. the chippy/cafe was on a corner and looked like it was run by greeks. our fish was kite shaped and bright yellow. i kept laughing and saying people were going to far with the organic stuff feeding fish corn.
I can't think of where you went wrong trying to get to Lowestoft
It's just one straight road from Yarmouth and I can't think of an industrial estate between Yarmouth and here either. Theres a fair few road works in Lowestoft at the moment though which is a pain. 2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -

I must be going mad I actually thought about BUYING a caravan this morning! Must be sun-drunk or something! I thought I was lucky living in the greenery of lancashire until this week!I am a Mortgage Adviser

All those chalet sites at Hemsby are really cheap for holidays. They are much cheaper than the Haven sites. For example a 2 bed chalet is £300 per week during the peak school holidays. You are paying about double that for a caravan on the Haven sites.
Take a look at https://www.carefree-holidays.co.uk next time you want somewhere to stay in the area. I like the Bellaire site at hemsby. Just out of the entrance onto all the beach road attractions.0 -

I went to Seashore at the end of june and loved it
. First time to Gt Yarmouth - well since i can remember!
Ds (who had his 4th b/day while we were there) loved it and thinks Bradley is just the best although he is starting to take a liking to naughty ned!!
We went to Petiits Animal Adventure farm - really easy to get to in the car from Seashore and we got discount tickets from haven reception. Cost just under £6 each and we thought that it was well worth it.
LOL know what you mean about buying a caravan there..so tempted..wanna go shares??
lol
Would love to go back again this summer when DH has his holidays but  the price is putting me off..so if anyone knows a caravan at any haven site in Gt Yarmouth going cheap the 1st 2 weeks of august send them my way :rotfl: .
Think we are going to go back next year but not sure which haven site to go for..wild duck, hopton, caister ???
*we're having fun in the t-t-t-tiger club *
