Microsoft has the best deal going at the moment. Their Office Live Basics gives free domain name, web hosting, email, calendar, IM, etc. They say its "free during and after beta" www.officelive.co.uk

    What is the catch?

I have heard very bad things about this company - when I have asked friends about this subject, they have said stay away from 1&1.

I've had no problems with One&One the years I've been with them, friends and family no problems either. Though I've heard online some have had problems, but I don't personally know anyone who has had problems only all that don't.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

They don't have the best reputation but I have used them for a couple of years with no problem. 3ix.com at 59p a month, can't go wrong.

lycos.co.uk is good for domain registration.

With One&One they will automatically renew your services from the last payment method, sometimes the payment maybe a month or two later than when they renew, so if you no longer wish to have a certain service from them, you need to log in to your account and select which options you want cancelling when their period is up, best not to leave it all to the last moment, just in case any problem does arise, though as said above I've not known any yet.

    I use 1&1 and they're OK. I haven't encountered any problems.

Some friends of mine have used https://www.daily.co.uk so it maybe worth looking at as well.
