Unfurnished Property - Curtains??

We had no curtains when we moved in....We did have curtain poles bar one but the landlord did get someone to put it up for us when we asked...
You'll have to ask permission from the landlord to put up curtain rails, though if they have been there before i can't see that he/she would object provided the previous tenants got permission...
A good tip is to scout around the internet, i managed to curtain all the whole house quite cheaply and two sets caem from dunelm mill and were in their sale/reduced section which in our store seemed to on most of the time...They might not have been exactly right but for the price of them i wasn't going to grumble, not in a rented hoouse anyway....
Dunelm Mill also does cut to fit blinds but again you would need permission to put them up...We were going to get a local comapny to give us a quote but both Dunelm Mill and local prices for blinds were too much given that we didn't know how long we would be here for...0 -
There were curtians up when we first viewed the house but there was another tennant living there at the time. We were not told that there wouldn't be any but, to be fair, we were not told that there would be either. I didn't ask as I think I just assumed that there would be as I have always had them before.
How did the previous tenant hang their curtains? Have they taken the curtain rails down?Scar tissue that I wish you saw, sarcastic mister know it all, close your eyes and I'll kiss you cause with the birds I'll share this lonely view.0 -
The unfurnished house I had for my last tenancy had curtains in all rooms.0

I wouldn't necessarily expect curtains, although many LLs will provide them as they are aware that window sizes vary.
However I would expect your LL to provide rails or poles and personally speaking would get onto him about it.0 -

I didn't want scallies to be able to judge from the roadside if I was in/out or if the curtains were open/closed. I got mine from the nearest curtain shop, cheap as chips ... and now I'll be carrying them with me everywhere in case I need them again.
:rotfl:
I had visions of you taking them to Tesco 'just in case'.0
