    Hello all

Miserable day here, cold, sleety and grey! But i had a walk as part of work which is always a bonus, followed by a cuppa and piece of carrot cake (way more calories than I walked off)

DH did a lot of the kitchen yesterday so I'm going to actually strike some off! Yay.

  • Hello,

Well I cleaned the bedroom today as I was supposed to have had Sky multiroom fitted so I thought I should make it presentable. Only when the man came to fit it he said he wasn't allowed to climb between the two conservatories (mine and neighbours) to fit the new dish. So now they got to send out a specialist team to fit the new dish and that won't be until next Friday. Ho hum. At least I can cross off the bedroom when it comes along later in the week.

I have done the kitchen too though so house is not too bad now. My eyes are itchy and streaming, I think I might have caught conjunctivitis off my friend :(

Best wishes to your DH Moam, hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Hugs to all that need it!

I have got up to taxiing speed in the kitchen but haven't reached V2 this evening, and am unlikely to.

I have, however, sent three extremely cheeky emails asking for information/can I visit that/I understand you know so-and-so any chance he can do xyz. I was feeling Brave!

Still, nothing ventured, nothing gained but it would be great to have a hat trick! Vibes please, ladies!

Just updating list, whoever gave the top tip about steeping the oven shelves in the bath with soap powder (I use liquid), thanks so much :Teven with a brillo, my shelves have never came up that clean before and I didn't even have to scrub them :D:D

DH is backshift this week so I am here on my own so physically cannot do any more and the gym phoned tonight to find out how I was, told them about my back and shoulder and hoping to be back next week, they said I could have got fees suspended on medical suspension but I cannot be bothered going to ask doctor for a "note" as I know I have pulled/torn a muscle but never got it diagnosed  by an "official"

MOAM - Glad your DH is out of surgery and in recovery, hope his recovery is quick and relatively pain free

Tea made and eaten x3 (DS1 not home yet). Lost track of WMs and DW is now on a service wash. It was doing some odd things earlier, so this is my first attempt at sorting it.
I have finished cleaning the oven for tonight, but I'll keep at it over the next few weeks until it is properly sorted. DS2 and I are going to go to the market tomorrow, so I'll stock up on scourers amongst other things.
I've still got lots left to do, but feel really tired now and I've promised myself that I will do something for work every night this week, so I don't leave too much for the weekend.
I hope it's one of the less important rooms tomorrow (or a quicker one), so I can do some more in the kitchen.

Waiting now on Mr T, fingers crossed he won't be long.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

That is what really p's me off with freecycle, if you want something and ask then the least you can do is respond when offered something or turn up when you agree to collect something.
Exactly. Which is why I now avoid using it, although I couldn't think of any other way to get rid of paving slabs or rubble. Someone was due to come round an have a look today (they knew I'd be working) so hopefully they'll get back to me in the morning to confirm whether they want it and how much!

Much the best way to do it... Do try soaking all the portable bits in washing powder though. It really helps!

Need to finish the kitchen and work out what I'm going pancake-wise tomorrow. I think there are 6 of us. One vegetarian, one non-fish, one fussy. Possibly an asparagus & cream sauce, and maybe another vegetable one. And then lemon and sugar or chocolate. If I have time to go out I might get some chestnut puree, but I don't want to get anything that will then hang around and need eating!

Thanks - did that, but realised too late that I didn't have anything to scrub them with. They're better than they were, anyway.
