update - I took him to the emergency vet. They inserted a catheter under general anaesthic & are doing tests.0

Update: am halfway through 2nd week (2nd set) of antibiotics. Chi is looking v well - although he is being fed like a king:
chunks of raw ox-heart (all connective tissue, clots - the lot - I bought & chopped it myself) for some meals, or bozita wet (tetra packs) or premium dried.
Unfortunately the tests have come back inclusive for chrystals or infection - so the vet said more blood will be taken at his follow up appointment next week.0
