The Gresham is an excellent hotel if you can get a deal on it. I'd recommend checking what's available first then having a look at various reviews with tripadvisor.com.

  • What's your budget? I just stopped travelling to Dublin for business and i've been in my fair share of hotels.

Conrad Hilton (other side of St. Stephens green to Grafton Street) - My favorite but a bit pricey. I believe the non-corporate going rate is 195 euros a night.

Brooks Hotel - nice hotel, great staff. Food is good also, but rooms a bit on the pokey side. Great location near bars, but not too near. 190 euro a night.

    Quality Hotel, Cardiff Way
Very good value for money. Amazing sports facilities for a 110 Euro a night hotel - full gym, swimming pool. Only thing is it's not walking distance to much, need to get a 5 euro taxi to get anywhere.

If I was staying there myself, i'd go for the Quality hotel. For the money, its the best, and there's always pleanty of taxi's in dublin to ferry you about. Most know where the hotel is, but some needed directions.

Try https://www.laterooms.com for lastminute cheap hotels

    Some places to eat:
    Fire - great steaks firegrilled
jaipur - best curry house (http://www.jaipur.ie/)
    Aya - conveyor-belt buffet sushi
Shanahans on the green - best steak you'll ever eat (but pricey.. 45 euros for a steak, side orders come extra)
Cedar Tree - great lebanese food

For food try Wagamamas - wonderful freshly cooked food as good as it gets.
Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j

I'd recommend doing a search on https://www.venere.com - really helpful website with lots of good maps/reviews, and reasonable prices too (which you also don't have to pay in advance!)
Plus for 4% off, use code: BK5HX8W

    Hope that helps

    Hiya,

Stayed at Jury's Croke Park in May... absolutely fantastic hotel - great accomodation, great service, great food.

We managed to get a weekend deal for 99 euro a night (we booked via lastminute after trying to find cheaper - we couldn't !) which included breakfast each day (either pre-ordered to your room or a buffet downstairs - both of which are highly recommended)

The hotel itself is located opposite Croke Park stadium and it is a fair walk in Dublin (about 30 minutes, through some rundown looking areas - but we never experienced any problems) - but taxis are available from the desk and they are quite cheap (although perhaps more expensive than the UK - but Dublin is expensive in general)...or there are regular buses which you can catch after a 5 minute walk.

We're planning on going back soon and we'd make the same arrangements again.

    Hope this helps!

if I was looking for Central Dublin I wouldnt look at jurys Croke Park .
Jurys custom House or parnell Street would be more central .
I stayed in Jurys Custom house last year .All the rooms had a second layer off double glazing .A good addition certainly, room was sound proof . jurys have put there prices up since last year .I am staying in the new Comfort Inn at Smithfield next time (2 weeks time )
or you could try www.townhouseofdublin.com .Its not a hotel but is a high a standard as a good hotel .It is as central as you can get .
