Hey there
Does any-one have any ideas how to make my laminate floors look shiny and bright. I usually mop them with washing-up liquid but they come up very dull
Any green ideas would be especially appreciated (and the easier for me to do the better :rotfl:)
Thank you

If the floors have become dull, then I'm assuming that something must be between the finish and the surface. Washing up liquid will cut through grease, so it can't be that.
Not to be rude, but have you tried plain warm water just to check that it's not the w'up liquid itself that has been left behind?0 -
I hand wash my laminate flooring with Ecover floor soap which contains linseed oil for shine, is biodegradable and a little goes a long way. I always use a bamboo cloth (Wilkos is cheapest) which is quite similar in texture to a string cloth, then I dry off with a couple of Value microfibre cloths. All these are quite 'green' I think! I find a lot of dirt is lifted by the drying off stage, and I haven't ever really had a mop that got my floor clean as handwashing so maybe try that first rather than a new product?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Another Ecover Floor soap user - except I just apply it out a bucket with a micofibre cloth and leave to air dry. Never had a problem with shine (or lack there of!).
Good luck, whatever you try.0 -
Seakay - not at all offended - the thought never crossed my mind!
Tried it today and it is better! But I don't think the mop helps! So I think I will get myself some microfibre clothes! And I do like the sound of bamboo clothes. We don't have Wilkos in Scotland (that I know of anyway) but I'll see if we I can hunt some down
And I didn't realise ecover had floor cleaner (it was their washing up liquid I have been using!)
Thanks - I'll have those floors shining bright before the week is outJan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

Tesco also sell bamboo cloths tho not as cheaply as Wilko! They are naturally antibacterial and very absorbent, I also like them for window cleaning.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

What are stardrops? I mentioned my cleaning attempts in another thread and some-one mentioned stardrops. I thought they meant some kind of magic i.e. getting some-one else to clean my floors for meBut obviously it's an actual thing and now I'm intrigued!
(On an entirely different note, I seem to have lost my iron. Which shows how often that gets used)

Stardrops is a fantastic all round cleaner - you only need a tiny bit in some warm water it is about 99p a bottle and you can buy it in Wilkinsons, Asda and poundland.
