Lloyds Vantage 2nd Account Debit Card ?

I want to open a 2nd Current Vantage account on line (Which it will let me do via internet banking) as I want both with 7k in and just move the £1000 between them each month but does the debit card that comes with the account need to be activated by phone ?, as I can't remember when I got my original debit card with my existing account if I had to phone up to activate it or if it was ready to use ?.
Main reason for asking as I wont really ever use the card as it is really just for savings and I can transfer it back to my other account if I need to take it out !.
Thanks.

Cut the card up then. Not sure what you're asking.0

I have 3 Vantage accounts but have debit card and cheque book with the first one only. When opening the second and third, I was asked whether I wanted these things and said I didn't. It would be wasteful to get either if you are not going to use them.0

Sorry I could have been clearer, what I mean't was on some cards when they arrive there is a sticker on them to say you must call to activate them, and I did not know (And could not remember) if you needed to call to activate the cards with Lloyds or if they came ready to use.0 -
But you said that you won't use the card so just cut it up. You don't need to activate the card to use the account online.0

I recently got my second Vantage account, after applying online. Debit card arrived without the need to activate it.
If it has the sticker on it (about activation), then you need to follow the activation process. If it's not on it, then you don't. Not a big problem IMO. The account will be working, just the debit card won't be until you've activated it.0 -

Thanks, I was just worried that if it needed to be activated and I never did (Because I would not use it) then they would either keep reminding me to activate it or close the account if it had not be activated within a set period of time.0 -
I tried to open a second one on-line, it wouldn't let me. How come some can and some can't? I had to go to a branch, and I had to make an appointment first. I was in there over half an hour!0

I read about others not being able to do it online, then I just logged in to see what I could do. It was a really simple process to open my second current account with minimal information required - I think just my latest occupation details. No idea why there's such a difference.
I presume I could do a 3rd online but don't need it right now.0 -

From when you opened it online how long did it take to some in Internet banking ?, I have just opened my 2nd one online now and all it asked was for my occupation !, then told me if successful I would recieve my details etc in 3 days, but no option to say no to a debit card or cheque book (Which I dont really want).0 -

I applied online for my second account last Sunday.
The account was online Tuesday evening.
The debit card arrived Thursday.
The PIN arrived Saturday.0
