Don't know if anyone else has heard about this - but Ebay is planning a catalogue of sellers' photos from their listings - now, I know Ebay probably won't want our photos of our old shoes, outgrown clothes etc., - but for those people who are listing bought in brand new goods - you may have an opinion on it.
Yes, you can put a "ghosting" brand name mark across each photo showing your user name, so Ebay won't want it anyway, but (easier) you can opt out before March 2010 -when they intend to do it.
Here's a link to the Ebay page where it tells you how to opt out of allowing your photos to be "shared".
I've just done it - quite straightforward.0 -
D'oh! Just remembered these guys. They run free courses online, so you join a webcast once a week for however long and they have a chat room where you can get Q&A put through to the lecturer. They don't seem to have any web programming stuff on at the moment, but they do a lot of Java/Photoshop etc. I did a digital photography course on there and it was really good, and I've signed up for the watercolour course as I have a ton of watercolour gear from when I was going to learn and then I got discouraged and it's been gathering dust for years. They make their money by selling the course later as obviously you don't have the webcasts to go back and refer to, but you don't have to buy if you don't want to.
Might be worth signing up for their alerts, just in case anything web programming-y turns up that would help the designers/would-be designers on here.
Oh, and if you sign up for something they seem to automatically enrol you for future courses by the same lecturer, so they are smart enough that if you are interested in topic A, you will likely be interested in advanced topic A too. See what you think

Thanks Mrs money-do you have to pay to join or anything? sorry for dumb questions-have only just started all this!
No- no money for signing up for Google Adsense - in fact if you have a Blogger blog - it's easy, you just tweak your layout and click on what size ads you want.
Questions not dumb at all - all these things are very simple - when you know how!!!!!
And we're all here to help each other with that.0 -
I've just had the most simple but brilliant idea.
None of us are in this alone. We're all helping each other. So let's set up a blog and/or website about the challenge. This should include links to each individual website, details about why we're doing the challenge, how we've joined together for support and sharing ideas etc ... strength in numbers! We need to get ourselves out there as much as possible, and there's a story in this, so let's get ourselves some free publicity! Anyone know how to get this into the press, and how to promote it?0 -
Thanks mrs money-have just signed up for Adsense :-)
Good idea Amber!! but I'm rubbish at tech stuff :-(0 -
as far as makiing your listing stand out.... have a look on ebay for what others are doing.... don't forget the people who are selling the pre printed transfers too.... and make it look better/different.
Having a shop will make you look more professional but will not give you any priority in listings....
have a look on the ebay forums to see how people are using the BM to their advantage....
Thanks, im not getting a shop yet anyway as i want to test the water first and see how things go. So i could make my sales page look good with out paying £14.99 a month then.
I notice that a lot of times the sellers put 'more than 10 avaliable', is that just for people who run the business side of ebay and not just basic sellers.
Also another thing is you see pro people who sell loads of different things on ebay, have like identicale pages, and they just re word to whatever it is they are selling.
Im just wanting to make sure i at least smart, and trying to find out if when i list items i can do it as quickly and effeciently as possible.:beer:2016 Money challenge - £2900 -

Great idea Amber. I am in. Not sure how to get it in the press though. Maybe start writing letters to the various magazines that have letters pages. Lots of the magazines pay for letters too so we might make a bit extra along the way. If that happens maybe we could agree to give the money to the person that does the stuff for Prem babies :-)
