  • Good morning folks!

Horrible day here today, been raining since yesterday afternoon, but it's washing the snow away (slowly) so I'm not going to complain too much!

2cats I absolutely adore adore adore your paint and stitch picture! You are so talented! Love the wording in the bottom of the boats, really, I just think the whole thing is fantastic! And as for the tortoiseshell type pendants.... are you putting them on Folksy? or was it Misi? whichever, please let me know as I feel I may need to treat myself once this weeks ebays are sold!

Nixi, your blog is great, I enjoy reading it, you write in a very easy style that's a pleasure to read.

MummyandPaige, go you!! I'm sure you'll love the lessons and your kiddies will probably have an absolute ball, so try not to fret!

    Toots x

  • Hi aud_lee, welcome, grab a seat and a cuppa and join in!

ok, just got off the phone, main aim for the next few months is to get a driving licence, so got the form filled out and ready to post for the provisional, got the nursery visit tomorrow to put kids in whilst I learn, now just got to find a good instructor. All in all, lessons, inc childcare for them are going to cost me £100 pw!! Think this is going to be expensive!

Question, as I am officially self employed now, does that mean that I would qualify for childcare TC's? Even though they are not in nursery while I am at work? I need to drive for what I want to do anyway, or is that bending the rules? 2DD's at £30 per session is going to take a large chunk of what I earn (if anything!) and OH is always working, even at weekends, so I can't rely on him, besides, the amount he knows about childcare, I would rather they went to nursery!

Also, don't know how DD's are going to react, DD1 has seperation anxiety and never been parted from DD2, so don't know, but I think I may suffer more from it than they do!

So long as you are doing 16+hours p/w you will qualify. I get help towards DS's preschool even though I don't work while he's there, on top of the 15hrs funded he gets since he's 3. Although now i have actual business ideas i will be working while he's there.

They will be fine, they'll have to get used to that sort of situation by the time they are school age anyway and kids are far more adaptable than any loving parent would give them credit for. But you are right in that it will affect you more than them! DS's confidence soared when he first started pre-school and he's better behaved now (not that he was especially naughty before), has a better routine and is more loving since he 'misses' me :D The house is loads tidier too :rotfl:
  • Having a little 'Omg, there's only 3 and a half days of Feb left and i've not done half my commitments' stress

OK, OK a BIG stress :o

I know I fret waaayyyy to much, its just I spent the last 2 years never being without a child, I don't know what I will do! Feels wierd going to the shop when they are in bed, not having a buggy! This will be good, just hope I don't fluff it worrying about them! Independance is what I need and I am going to get it! thankyou x

Mabel - hows the mamoth listing going? x

YummyMummy - you have a job, a child and a new flat to contend with, chill! How is the decorating going? Don't worry about the commitments, they will roll over, you have enough on your plate as it is x

  • Morning all,

Just sold my own mobile for £60.00 to Tesco + 200 points. Amazed at the price because the phone is 18 months old.

I am now left with the tattiest mobile imaginable that I found at the bottom of a drawer. It has no back to keep the battery in. However, I have just bought a battery back off ebay for a couple of pounds and with the back on it and it's charger this one will still re-sell for about a tenner. It's going to go on ebay too.

DH and DS are starting to nail things down to stop them going on ebay LOL.
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.
