Thanks for your feedback, it didn't take as long as it looks, it's a really easy package to use and i have very little experience in web design.:o

I am indeed dropshipping, tested the water on ebay and sold a couple of things which all went smoothly but the fees fleeced me so i decided i might as well try and go it alone. Worst that can happen is nobody purchases anything but i can cancel at any time. I've been doing lots of marketing so hopefully will have some buyers, had quite alot of interest so far and it's been up less than a week.:D

I can actually get bigger car seats, or at least i think i know the ones you mean. I'll upload some more later tonight.:T

Thanks to everyone who looked and commented, it really spurs eachother on to do well! Flaming marvellous work everyone xx

Just had a look at your site Casey and it is fantastic, the products look so good. May I ask which web package you use?

We have a 5 month old son who we would love to have his bedroom kitted out with the furniture you offer but alas we don't have any funds at present and are making do with old but safe furniture passed on from family and friends. Maybe when I make my 10k some of it will be passed in your direction, lol.

oh and you guys must have a serious effect on me. Look, I'm posting well into the evening.lol
still so much to do to my blog, I'm starting to feel as though I'll not be able to make money as I'll be too busy getting things ready but if I'm going to do it right I need the right platform to start from.

Aww thank you so much :) Yes of course, i used vistaprint and it took about 5 hours to do most of it, i'm still adding and retouching as i've only set it up in the last week. It costs 8.97 per month and i can cancel at any time, the first month is free too.:D

Lol @ 10k, i'm trying to find some more reasonably priced things too, there's nothing wrong with stuff from friends and family, i'm sure we've all inherited and passed down in our lives. xx

Hi Saucy- just had to look that up on Google! God hun- you are so strong to be dealing with that, I don't ever want to hear you apologizing for having a moan again.

Munchki- glad to hear it went well, still got various extremities crossed for the second interview!

Just had an idea that I'd like to pick your collective brains about- Im thinking about an 'introductory offer' on the new Seren range to get some attention (hopefully) What discount would get your attention? I was thinking 25% coz if I'm looking at buying things that usually gets my attention whereas 10% or 20% not so much. Any thoughts? Thanks for any input.
  • well after a weekend away with oh and my daughter im back on this forum. Quite interesting weekend on my targets. 1 more webshop sales making it 4 now in total and have serious interest in the used clothing i had to sell on (offer of £6000 via bankers draft) providing i can send some photos by weekend. so all in all i think ive done well this weekend. lost a few sales due to not being able to answer questions on but hey nevermind win some lose some!!

  • Sadly some doctors seem to think younger people never get serious illnesses and are all fit and healthy really. Make a fuss, definitely, you should not be in pain.

Munchki, am awaiting the good news!

Whoever got the books - I am so tempted to grab a cheap flight and fill a suitcase with some!

Nixi - Okay how to start..... as far as suppliers go, I basically started with seaching google...let say for towels.... so I started with permutations of
towel manufacture / distrubuter / wholesale/ uk / supplier.... etc. I tried to think of what the firms might call themselves. I carried on for a few pages into google. I also looked for catalogue overs / ex chainstore stuff etc.... A lot of the links I have found are through other sites. All the time I was looking at competitors to see if they mentioned manufacturers and brands and then did more searches based on that. A few I have found through blogs, forums (eg item / lifestyle specific). Once I had an idea of competitors and looked at suppliers I was able to see who got what from where, tried to work out their mark up etc.... If I found several sites (retail) selling the same items and knowing (all guess work mind!) where they got their stock from, I could guage their authenticity. I also looked at what was selling on ebay and did searches on wholesale for specific items.... eg pink flower hand towels wholesale/distributer.....
It has taken up most of my time for the last three or four weeks... in between bursts of ebay, but I feel well worth it as I think I have quite a good understanding of whats out there and whats selling....

TH only problem I have now is the finance.... I have a few hundred set by (and a few more hundred in stock of bits and bobs for the other ebay venture!) but not enough for what I want to do. I am hoping to clear out more stuff on ebay over the next few weeks to build up the funds a bit more......

I could be completely barking up the wrong tree of course!

If you are unsure of what you want to trade in, then try a few different things in small quantities to test the market first.... do you have an interest or do you see a problem that can be solved by such and such a product? You have kids, you have a blog about kids... how about something related to kids....such as clothes (hard to compete with the likes of primark though!), eduational toys, books, craft supplies for kids etc.... just thinking out loud!

Please feel free to PM / MSN me if you like! I have PM'd you to let you know exactly my plans!!

No offence to anyone else on here but I have realised how well read this post is and with its google ranking so high I have decided to be a bit cagey in the open forum.... I am more than happy to discuss with any of you via PM!!

    HTH and makes sense!!

right, to sort out the rest of you 'orrible lot!!

Saucy - ask Amber to check out the postal prices and times from spain to the uk for you.... it might be just as cheap and viable for you to post them yourself.... and, I hate to say it, but can you trust the inlaws??? If you want to post them to the uk in bulk and then get them sent out from here I am more than happy to help! All you have to do is ask!!

Oh, and as far as the Princes Trust funds and advice.... contact your local business link... as far as I am aware they run one day courses in the basics or they will (depending on area) visit you in your home if you are unable to get there.... I should think they will visit you if you explain your health problems....

Munchki - soundin' good!!! Second interview already... good girl! Now I presribe a good night sleep and lots to eat!!!

Casey - the site looks FAB... I can't beleive it only took you five hours.... WHy not try and source some more dropshippers with some lower priced items like toys/decorations etc.... the lower priced items might help the site traffic and then bump you up google a bit more making you more likely to sell a few of the bigger items...

This evening I shall mostly be ebaying again! I've been at it all day pretty much and I still have 1 and 1/2 boxes to go :( I am starting to loose the will to live..... think of brand new profitable business..... and xmas 2010 in the maldives/carribean etc with you lot.....

    pop in later!
