ive been with orange for years, it used to be a 12 month contract and id just get an upgrade every year. Now its an 18month contract but i can get an upgrade 3 months early,,,ok,,,heres what i dont quite get.
I got an upgrade nov 2008, that was 3 months early so my actual contract end was feb 2009, so it would follow that my renewed 18month contract would end aug 2010, but im now eligable for an upgrade again and it says on my account that my contract ends may2010, this means that if you upgrade early, the new contract always starts at that point?

Your 12 month contract to 2/9
Add 18 months giving you 8/10 as end of contract from 2/9 - upgrade in 11/8
Upgrade possible in 5/10 (3 months early before end of contract) ?

Are you certain about the contract end date being Aug 2010. Maybe the 18 months were added from the date you upgraded in Nov 08 - making May 2010 the end of contract?

i didnt explain very well, my contract end is may 2010, i thought it would be aug 2010, i got my early upgrade nov 2008, the current contract then was due to end feb 2009, that would take me to aug 2010 on a new 18month contract, it seems that if you upgrade early, they take that as the start date

Sorry me not reading too well at moment :D.
I was under impression they would add on the 18 months from the end of the existing contract. But I guess its added on from the point you upgrade - bonus for you :D .
  • Yep if you up grade early you add those 3 months on to your new contract!!! Rubbish but thats how they sting you, worth waiting if you can.

I am just thinking its a benefit to count those months towards the new contract - so next time you come to upgrade, you can upgrade earlier, surely that is better?

yeh thats what i was thinking oneaday, basicly, if you upgrade early, you'll always knock 3 months off your 18month contract, or at least thats whats happened to me this time,,,,,i think
