It is blatantly obvious that claiming mis-selling of PPI can be done by the individual. You can see people claiming successes on a daily basis just on MSE alone.
However, my stance has always been and will always be that mis-selling ppi is only the tip of the iceberg. There are more serious issues below the surface. I have always insisted that those other issues will only be claimed successfully via the legal route.
I would never advocate a claims company simply go for the easiest route (PPI mis-selling alone is the easiest route, you can do it yourself) and would not associate with such a scheme as you leave yourself open to a negligence case later on when the client does find out that they could have received more compensation had the right issues been raised.
I make no apologies for that.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.0 -
Ok maybe not frighten but you do play on clients insecurities, lack of knowledge & fear of taking in their own reclaims.
After seeing the poor treatment clients have received, would they get any more money in their pocket by going for all these secret commissions etc, after all at the end of the day that is what matters - I don't think so, they are what makes the money for the claims management companies & solicitors by dragging out the case.
The clients are probably as well off going for the PPI alone & doing it themselves as it will probably be sorted a lot quicker than using a claims management company.0 -

I can assure you that I would expect the client to get more back going via the legal route. Should it not be so, I would agree, it would not be worth doing.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

Then why have the majority of the clients you sent to loancheck still not received a settlement - some 2 or 3 years down the line?
It is better to have just claimed the PPi & have that in your pocket for you to do what you want with than have the faint hope that you may one day get slightly more back but you don't know when or how long it will take.0 -

Hi Petermb
Please can you give your take on why some of these claims have taken sooooooo long. I know 6 / 9 months was mentioned in the beginning but some of these have been with Solicitors for two years. Why has it taken so long for the Solicitors to get these sorted out. Is it the Solicitors lacsadasical (if that is spelt right) approach, is it the lenders being slow/awkward, or perhaps the Solicitors have been forced or have offered to take on too much. Others have been stuck with Loancheck and not even got to a Solicitor is that Loanchecks fault or not enough Solicitors to take the work on?
I am not saying you know the ins and outs of all the above but I wondered what in your opinion happened. Why this side of things fell apart.:mad:0 -

Hello Max my friend. Loancheck passed my case to BlackKnight last November.
They said they had money to progress claims on to solicitors. And the next step would be a solicitor contacting me. I am still waiting for that to happen.
Will be calling them on Monday to see what is happening.xxDS1 12/10/04

Hi Pinknico:j
What Solicitor were you with before it was transferred. Did they ask you to sign another CFA? Also Pinknico make sure you do not get charged from your previous Solicitor.
Also as Thomas 123 says Solicitors should only pass their cases on to other Solicitors not Black Knight. Is that what happened with you Pinknico?.
Let us know what happens. Lovely to hear from you.x:mad:0
