Dont Order from Argos!!!

Just a word of warning on the horrendous customer service I am experiencing from Argos.
I purchased a cross trainer from them on December 28th and was told it would be delivered in 14days, that then extended to 21 days, then Jan 31st, Feb 14th, Feb 28th and now the expected date of delivery to their warehouse is March 14th.
Abviosly they take orders for items they havent even purchased or got in the stores yet!!

I have complained and they have told me I can have a refund, but believe it or not i actually want the item i bought in december (was £250 - now £150).
After more complaining they said i can cancel the order and purchase another one, butt if it is more expensive i will have to send them a cheque for the amount which will take 7 days to clear and them wait another estimated 21 days for delivery.

Just wanted everyone to be aware that they take your cash and then keep you hanging for months, if i had known that i would never have bought from them in the first place and fingers crossed i will have the cross trainer by xmas!!

Rant Over!!!!

I think you must be unlucky, we ordered a sofa early January. We were given a delivery date of the following weekend. It turned up on time and in excellent condition. No complaints here.

To be fair, you could always have had your money back at any stage when they couldn't meet original delivery date. Though I don't blame you for hanging on given the saving you're making.

Personally after waiting that amount of time i would have taken back the money and gone elsewhere.

I hope you get it sorted soon, good luck.

I've never had a moment's problem in ordering anything from Argos. I'm sorry for your problem, but I wouldn't hesitate in ordering anything from them.
  • A similar thing happened to me regarding furniture. I ordered on 31st Dec got an email to say they would contact me and the date kept being put back. At the start of Feb they rang to say the furniture is no longer available and i cannot have it! After all that waiting. I had to wait 7 days for my money to be cleared. They really do have awful customer service so i can sympathise with you completely.
  • very similar problems encountered with Argos on 2 occassions. They never contact you to say there is a problem after they have given estimated delivery dates which they can't meet. I will not bother ordering from them again.

I have only once had a late delivery from Argos. I complained and they sent me a cheque for £40 as a goodwill gesture.
