Hi,
Im a current mfw and my mortgage is as follows;
m1 around £64k @ 0.69% over 27 yrs starting in 08
m2 around £18k @ 1.49% over 27 yrs starting in 08
Im overpaying at the mo and according to the calculator I can knock 14 yrs off m1 and 18 yrs off m2 so fingers crossed for it all gone in 13 yrs.
I was really scared at the thought of being 70 when my mortgage finished and being a single mum on a salary below £20k can be a bit hard but doing all I can now.
Some of your mortage amounts absolutely terrify me :eek:, good luck to all trying to get rid of them. :T0 -

£50,000 - £99,999I'm a bit surprised at how many people have relatively small mortgages when house prices have been so high.
We borrowed £83700 12 months ago, we don't overpay at the minute because our money has been going on getting it habitable but once we've finished all the work we have needed to do we will overpay. Our fixed interest rate is 6.7% so we should (fingers crossed) easily be able to overpay and keep our monthly dd the same when this "deal" comes to an end anyway. My other half earns very well too but we were way too scared to buy a bigger or more expensive house just incase:silenced:0 -
£50,000 - £99,999they may sound low but what multiples are they of peoples salaries!-i dont know how to start a survey like this but it would be a good indication to compare to this outstanding amounts.

£150,000 - £199,999House was first brought by my father in 1986 for 90k.
Shame he had to remortgage it numerous times or it would have been paid off in 5 years or so. As it is, I took out a 159k mortgage on it in 2008 with 159k outstanding! On a term of 30 years.0 -
£50,000 - £99,999hard to read much into 159k--your house could be worth 1 million! and you earn pots!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0
