Started with 151k, now 137k remaining, 24 years left.

I'm aiming to get it to 124k by the end of the year.

We.ve got 37000 and 8 years left, overpaying by 20 quid a month at the mo, wish we could afford more. Plan on increasing overpaymet by 10 pounds a year to try and shorten the term.

It seemed such a shame to vote 50-99 when I owe 51k:(

I see there are 5 people on splendid joint incomes ......

£135k with 19 years remaining on a lifetime tracker with HSBC of BoEBR +0.99% (so currently paying 1.49%).

I would just add that size of mortgage isn't everything - depends on your income/salary multiples too.

A £238k mortgage is more than manageable if, for example, you're on a £100k income (although if you *are* on a £100k income, you're probably not posting on MSE!).

    Hi,

I have had big changes in mortgages in last 12 months.
12 months ago, i owed 25k, and had 7 years left, i was 31 years old, with my house valued at 145k, i was overpaying and getting rid of this debt.

    But..........................
My wife and I moved Feb 2009. new house was 240k
New Mortgage at this point was 98k, ( PORTED TRACKER 0.5% ABOVE BASE FOR 25K) 73K FIXED FOR THREE YEARS AT 5%

It is now today around 90k, i have overpayed this year and i currently have 20 years left on it.

Plan is to get rid of this as soon as I can................. who knows when!!

i would think a ltv percentage might add to the relievance of a mortgage amount
ltv 20pc mortgage 55314 on svr of 2pc interest only-savings for a rainy day!! no intention of clearing mortgage
    mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.
  • £200,000 - £249,999
Our mortgage will be £225k when we start paying (hopefully in March), which gives us a LTV of 85.5% (I was surprised the valuation came in at our offer, given the valuation on another house we nearly bought)
