Nokia N900, SE Satio or HTC HD2?
I'm undecided between these three phones as my trusty N95 Is on the way out unfortunatly. I would like an iphone but with the camera being pants that's out the frame. Although I hear there could be a new one in June? My N95 probably wont last that long so what would be your recommendation please?
Basically I want two main things from the phone apart from the obvious.
Good camera and internet friendly.
Thanks,
Pete.

Personally, I would forget the N900. Maemo is still in it's early days and the other two phones offer a better camera/internet experience.
The Satio has a very good 12MP camera, but the touch screen isn't like the iPhone or Android devices, it's resistive, which means need to use a fingernail or stylus rather than a smooth finger swipe. Touch experience on S60 5th Edition phones seem to have a way to go.
The HD2 is Windows Mobile, so you probably love/hate this platform. The camera is ok, but not as good as the Satio. There was a bug in the camera software, but this has now been fixed for photos, but not video. The TouchFlo interface is pretty good and makes for a decent experience.
Maybe have a play with both of these phones and see what you think?0 -
I've had the N900 for a few weeks now and love it. The best phone I have had in years but you do need to be aware that it is really an Internet Tablet / mini notebook primarily with phone functions added on. Its Internet experiance is second to none as it runs 'full' websites including flash although this does mean it is data hungre. It fully intergrates with many social networks (such as showing latest facebook status' in your contacts book).
Yes it runs Meamo but for me this is a plus. Its open source and there is a good community developing for it.
Have a look at Meamo.org to give you an idea of some of the apps in development.0 -

Go for the N900, Ive had it for 2 months and love it. OK, early days for apps, but that was the same with iphone.Kind Regards

Release 5 though is the first 'Maemo' in it's current incarnation. This is quite different from the platform that was first developed in 2005.
It will be interesting to see how it develops along with Android. I believe Maemo could be an excellent platform in the next couple of releases.
Although Nokia don't intend this to be a 'Smartphone' OS, in the mid-term, it could well become their choice over S60, which has never really developed to potential.0
