Were looing to offer a house share for a single mother and her daughter

My Mrs and I are going to offer a single mother and her daughter the spare room and share of the house to hopefully assist her as she is a mutual friend, she is a single mother with a small toddler of 2 1/2 years, she is currently in receipt of income support, and works part time for about 8 hours a week as a classroom assistant, we would like to offer her full use of her own room, then full use of the rest of the house to come and go as she pleases, we would like to offer her some meals as well, probably breakfast and dinner, she will need to contribute to the bills, these are gas, electric, water etc etc.
Due to her very low income she will be heavily reliant on the local council for assistance with housing costs etc,
We live in Canterbury in Kent where housing is extremely expensive, should we include all costs on the housing benefit application form or should be bill her separately, what is the councils liability when it comes to assisting single parents with meals and services,
any help and advice will be warmly welcomed,

gas, electric, water and food are not payable by housing benefits, JSA or income support for the adult is to cover these.
As a single parent on income support she could get the LHA for a 2 bedroom place, would she not prefer her own place? The benefit of sharing I guess may be lower bills but there would be less privacy0 -
If she only has sole use of one room, she will only be eligible for the shared rate. I agree with Caz3121, it seems silly to move into a shared house when the LA will provide for a private property.Gone ... or have I?0

The LHA amount for shared accommodation is just over 71 pounds; the applicable amount for a 2 bedroom accommodation is over 149. Primelocation shows that there's a reasonable amount of 2 bedroom flats available within this limit.0

I agree theres more to this, even if its just garanteed rent income for the OP.
OP, are you in arrears with your rent/mortgage?
Do you have permission from your mortgage provider/landlord/insurance for this?

We are not missing anything, and I was going to post the samr thing last night but did not know how to word it when I was so tired.
I reckon the OP wants the LA to help pay his mortgage - or possibly even rent judging on his very first post in 2007!!

Yes your right. Its the tenant that applies, not the "land lord".
OP, what relationship do you have with the "single mother"?
What are we missing?
From the OPs past post, they only have a 2 bed room - ex council semi detached house, so when they say "the spare room", they mean, "the other room".

Vader, they did say they were buying that council house and were going to rent it out straight away 'because housing in that area is at a premium in their area' so they could be renting somewhere bigger.
If I see something like this post I always check other posts to see what I am missing. There is usually something.0
