Tickets from Lastminute.com

Hi
Has anyone bought theatre tickets from lastminute.com as i've spotted a few bargains for the show i want to see in March and just wondered how we go about getting tickets etc and how good lastminute really are, just wondered if anyone has any past experiences of lastminute.

Thanks.

My mate booked for Legally Blonde and she had problems apparantly - she said that they dont make it clear that tickets are box office collection only whenever you book them - so just bear that in mind. I've not used them for theatre tickets but Im sure they'll be fine. :)

been using them for years and perfectly good. never had problems and normally if you go during the week when its less busy you tend to be upgraded to better seats :)

Have previously booked tickets via Lastminute.com too and personally have never had any problems.

Though I do believe that they have to be collected from the Box Office on the night - but don't see why that should be a problem as if you're going to see a show you'll need to turn up at the theatre anyways!

On the whole it's been fine for us to, and we have used them a few times. However we had a cheap deal for Spamalot the other year and we had a seriously restricted view which was not mentioned at any point when booking. I was annoyed but didn't feel I could complain as they were something stupid like £10 each. We did enjoy it- but the view was very restricted, and if it happened again I wouldn't hesitate to complain both at the theatre and afterwards via email.

Bought tickets for Priscilla. They weren't any cheaper than if we'd bought them from the Theatre and had a restricted view, I did complain and got nowhere. There are other ticket outlets that are better

Same theatre we saw Spamalot in, there are alot of restricted views there unfortunately. I want to see Priscilla but wouldn't risk using LM for this after last time and the sheer number of restricted views there . Hope you enjoyed it though!

my son used lastminute.com to purchase tickets recently for woman in black i think it was called could be wrong however , apart from the fact he wasn't informed via website that tickets had to be collected from boxoffice he said it was fine a phonecall soon cleared up the confusion regarding the collection of the tickets. He said he would use again as tickets were dead cheap

I bought tickets for wicked and had the option of having a barcode texted to my mobile which was scanned at the theatre. the tickets were a bargain will definitely use them again.
  • One thing I don't really like is that they price their tickets based on 'top price seat', 'second price seat', 'third price seat' etc but never tell you where you will actually be sitting.

I guess this is so that they can offer a generic seat category for any venue but it does leave me wondering where the seats might be which is a little worrying. I'm looking at some 'second price' seats for Wicked now but I don't want them to be in a bad spot. It would appear there is no way to tell..............
