my upgrade time has come and i was thinking of getting a new 3g iphone, then i thought about going on a sim only contract and buying a phone instead, i dont want to spend a fortune ,so wondered if a 2g iphone would be ok for what i want, im currently using a nokia 6300 which is great, im not a big techi freak, im not bothered about the latest equipment. So id like to know, is the 3g that much better than the 2g? i just want it to do what my nokia does and id use the wifi, not 2 bothered about going on the net with it.

What is important to you in a phone?

The iPhone 2G is very different to the Nokia 6300. IMO, apart from the interface, the iPhone 2G is a poor device.

All iPhones rely heavily on internet connectivity, it's one of their biggest selling points.
