Knoppix 3.9 and USB sticks

Hi,

Anyone seen it where Knoppix doesn't recognise a USB stick as the correct size? I've got Knoppix 3.9 (I know it's not the latest, just a CD I already had burnt), and a Sandisk 16GB NTFS stick.

It seems to be saying there's 385.8MB in total.

Thanks

It could be the NTFS filesystem causing the problems (what does knoppix report when the drive is formatted as FAT32?)

Does windows (or any other Linux distro) pick the drive up as the correct size?

Correct in XP and Win 7. New stick. Freshly formatted. Looks like I'm formatting back to FAT32...

    Thanks for the suggestion.

Or use a recent/new linux distribution.

NTFS fs support has come on in leaps and bounds in the last few years.

Knoppix 3.9 is from 2005!

I'm not surprised it doesn't work.

Just remember the maximum single file size will be 4GB on FAT32

Fair point. Didn't realise it was so old. Although thinking back to when it was burnt!

Yes Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic recognizes ntfs straight off.
(On earlier versions I had to add an extra ntfs package).
