Calling UK from abroad
Apologies if this is an oft asked question (I did a search and couldnt find the answer) however...
What is the cheapest way to make calls home to the UK on my 02 mobile?
I will be in France for two weeks and any tips greatfully received.

Depending on how much use you intend, it could work out cheaper to use a different SIM card with a callback service. French SIMs do not have cheap international tariffs, but callback charges for French mobile run from about 12p per minute.0

there are lotsa other roaming companies out there....
like:

i found last one best http://www.simplytravelsim.com/ as they have automatic recharge so dont neet to worry about runningouta credit on my hols....
good luck0 -
What a surprise that you are a fan of another product from the same stable, but have at least mentioned some others. There are loads of resellers of 8 or 9 global SIMs, and not surprisingly the selling point of easy recharging is not unique, nor is it the best tariff amongst these, being only marginally cheaper than the new O2 rate for landlines, and more expensive for UK and other mobiles.0

Thanks for all the posts.
I will be using the phone very infrequently - if at all- but being a mean !!!!!! wanted to save as many pennies as possible.
The day after I started this thread I got the info from 02 about their Summer offer as detailed by seaniboy. We all evolve - get on with it0 -
In that case, sticking with the new O2 tariff looks ok, as the global SIMs tend to cost quite a bit more than their included credit.
If you will go again to France in future, then there is some discussion of NRJ Mobile on this thread - it has a longer validity period than most of the others, based on calls made rather than top-ups.

So which is the best IOM international sim reseller? Does anyone do Antigua? Do UK mobile providers treat IOM mobile numbers as normal mobile numbers? Do any of them do specials for calls between their sims whilst abroad? Do they have service charges / limited credit validity as well as the call charges? ThanksI think....0
