  • mine is a rather different experience i got zero support from my ex when i was under huge financial pressure it was the ending of our relationship and its been 18mths since br and havent heard one word from the exis in laws so i guess they think its all my fault. Some people do tend to judge you i have a very snooty neighbour who i love shouting across the road to MORNING with a big smile on my face, only thing is i wont be laughing so much when my home gets repo in a few mths time.
  • I havent told anyone, except on here and my new bank, I received all the help I needed on here, one day I shall perhaps tell them, am not sure.

I had only told the OH for the longest time and only because he forced it out me seeing how stressed I was. He was very supportive all the way.

I then told my mother who knew I was in trouble and kept asking how I'm getting on, but her reaction was not the greatest ('how is this going to affect me?' more or less). I never mentioned it again and she only asked one more time, but I could tell the less she knew, the better she felt so I didn't go into detail.

After a while I also told my brother. He's 22 so I didn't want to spring something like that on him, but we're very close and I would have to lie to his face constantly if I were to keep it for long. He thought I had done the right thing.

My father is himself an ex-BR, but we're not close so I wouldn't discuss finances with him.

Everyone else, I don't feel it's really their business. I would have rather not told anyone except the OH who may have needed to know in the future.
