02 Mega deal sought

Hi

Me and my wife are on 12 month simplicity contracts and we both need new phones as they are slowly dieing a slow death. I would like the HTC HD2 or iphone 3gs and she would like the iphone 3gs. We currently pay £20 per month but are happy to pay up to £25-30 if we get a good deal with the phone and are happy to be on a 24month contract.

My sister and Dad also want to sign up on to 02 contract. My dad only wants to pay £10 per month and only needs a few minutes and text a month. He saw a deal with t-mobile which also allows a bolt on to call asia for 60 minutes per month which was a good deal for him. My sister like us is happy to pay up to £30 , she wants to leave 3 and get herself an iPhone or Blackbury curve 8900.

At the moment we all live in the same house.

Does anyone think its possible that if we spoke to the right people at 02 they could do as I would call it, a mega deal where we all get the phones we want on a decent contract, surely I would think that this would be beneficial to 02 as they sign up 4 people on long term contracts.

I phoned upgrades from my phone but they suggested i go to a 02 store and see if they could do a deal as they said they are not able to offer any discounts over the phone.

I can't really phone retentions as I am still got 5 months of my 12 month contract left.

Can anyone suggest if there is anything we could do? I would have thought 02 would have loved having 4 people on long term contracts but then again we are asking for the latest and greatest phones so maybe its not possible.

Thanks

    Both very expensive phones.

The iPhone 3GS has virtually no discounts for any customers unless you get a refurb. You'll be talking £35+/month brand new. See this thread for discussion:

The HTC HD2, you should be able to get free on a £25-£30/month contract if you don't need too many inclusive minutes.

It's unlikely you will be able to upgrade at this point in your contract without paying most of the remainder.

There may be a deal to be done when signing up 4 contracts, but your stumbling blocks will be the time you still have left on your contract and the lack of discounts on the iPhone.
  • If you're all on O2 you could add the:

O2 Your Family Bolt On – one person pays £7.50 a month, adds up to four people to a family group and then you all enjoy unlimited calls, text and picture messages between each other.
Your Dad could then use Pay and Go and top up as and when he needs it whilst still keeping contact with the rest of you - or take a £10 Simplicity.

As for the iPhone - you can get (O2) deals through third parties for £30 a month although they may not be the best.

They'll not do anything until your contract is nearly over and you can get retentions involved - plain and simple.
