  • can i join this debt free thing?

I'm slowly clearing a debt I have with HSBC, still I have a long way to go, especially considering I earn not too much.

I started with token payments, have increased to £20 a month, i can't afford much else, but I want to repay my debts, even though i would say nearly a grand was from bank interest and fees alone, i need to clear every last debt in my name and just stay on the straight and narrow.

am i posting in the wrong bit? lol

I take cakes my mother makes into my work and sell them, I donated some money to haiti last week and the rest i kept, i do this start or end of every month, everyone loves my dear old ma's cakes, and i raise some extra money to put towards my credit union christmas cracker account lol.
She LEFT me, she LIED, and she made me foot the BILL !

    Morning all!
Its a lovely sunny cold day here in Manc, better than the grey ones we've had for a while. May even inspire me to do something outdoors later?!

Wasn't able to log on yesterday but did get quite a bit done including passing one of my skills tests to be a qualified teacher (got the other 2 tomorrow), having a nightmare on public transport trying to get to the test centre (will take the car tomorrow), cleaning whole house, being nursemaid to poorly dog, watching Wales beat Scotland :j, and doing the weekly shop. Had a flop on the sofa in the evening and a relatively early night. Feel much better today.

    So today's efforts will include...
Cooking OH nice tea for V day
Walking dog for free exercise (done 1 already)
    Cleaning bathrooms
One wash and dry on radiators/airer
Complete at least 1 job application
    Look for other jobs
    Checked banks
Found out that extra unplanned for bursary will now be paid on Thursday
Practice on line skills tests ready for tomorrow's tests
    Watch rugby later

That's it for today.... have a good weekend
  • Morning ish all

Walk later to stretch the legs
Make up some pudding from something lovely
    Feed hens
Hokey cokeys drying indoors got the fire on in the living room so will shove a clothes drier in here as well
Cut up more wood maybe or see if any's cut
venture into greenhouse and then run out again - its a bit dank and miserable
wrap up some seeds for a fellow mse'r :)

Hi all, I'm quite new and stumbled on this thread! It's a great idea - I've got lots of tips from yo all just talking about how you've gone about your business at the weekend! Anyway, here's what I've done this weekend:

    - Had to go to Tutorial at Uni on Sat Morning - Left the car at home and got a lift with OH to his work which is about 1.5 miles from uni, then I wore out good shoe leather getting to Uni. Also, UNINTENTIONALLY (!) got train home and no ticket collector came to take my money so free trip back home! (Saved 40 miles of Petrol and about £8.00 in parking fees)

    - Taking pics of items to list on ebay tonight.

    - Cooking nice dinner at home tonight, rather than going out for dinner.

    - Washing done at 30, rather than 40.

    - Just started Daily clicking in last few days and have made a few quid so far!

    - Started a Xmas Saving Jar in January where I'm putting at least £1 per day in for xmas and my car's MOT which is due in DEC. Counted up today - I'm now at £102.23!!!
    :A2014 = my year for change!
:mad:Credit Cards are NOT my friends and I'm NOT playing with them anymore:p

    Hi all!
Is this the Sunday/weekend thread as well!
Only a couple of MSE things for me this weekend - am saving a bit of money as Valentine's Day has coincided with Chinese New Year, so that's good!

    1. Had a boot sale yesterday and sold some of my old books/clothes and nicknacks and made a few bob.
    2. Homemade picnic for OH today!
    3. Worked lots of hours in 2nd job!
    4. Didn't post Valentine's Day card!
    5. Read about other people being MSE on this website. Even if I'm not being very frugal, it's good to live vicariously!!

Happy Valentine's Day/Happy Chinese New Year!
    Overpay!
