Sat 13th Feb - What small DFW's have you done today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :j:j:j
Morning all
I guess I'm the only one working today and thus am up at silly o'clock
My list is as follows:
- Go to work!!! Boo!!!
- Sell £1500 labour
- Declutter home
- Ebay listings!
- Dinner from meal plan
- LSD - only replace yale lock that I had to beat apart when I locked myself out and my 2 year old daughter inside!
- Hokey cokey
- Depending on weather when I get home at 2pm maybe washing on line?
- Keep an eye on energy monitor
Have a good day everyone

Hi everyone, I really must try to keep on top of posting here. Anyway, things today:
Payday! Well, Monday is, but it shows today. Am going to ignore it until Monday though.
First mortgage payment went out today, not too scary as it's only £6 more than I was paying to my rent. Need to work out an overpayment plan but we want to settle in and make sure the bills aren't too crippling first - moving from a small one bedroom flat to a 3 storey house is bound to make a difference!
Scratchers - 10 10. Haven't had more than that for ages!
Out to see a play today, got a discount so quite cheap, and then to All Bar One for their £15 wine and 3 small plates offer. We're meeting OH's friends afterwards and I'd rather not pay silly bar prices for my drinks so better to have a drink first on the offer I think! Having lunch at home before we go to save money.
Joined the "No more books" thread, I have enough that I haven't read. Must get back onto Amazon Marketplace and Green Metropolis and get rid of some.
I think that's everything - have lovely days everyone!0 -
Those blinds can be cut to fit quite easily, as long as he has he right tools. My DH did this for each window.Morning all. Hi all,
Yargo, I know that feeling too well! Could you drive there and leave your car and only get a taxi home? At least then it'd be half price, but only convenient if you can pick up your car easily tomorrow.
My list for today is:
- Wash the dishes while the water is still hot so I don't need to put it back on again later 3 loads later...
- Got the laundry on the clothes horse, hoping it won't take 3 days to dry!! Think some has dried so I'll put those away. Can't face putting another load in today.
- Heating on low
- Add some pearl barley to the HM soup I've got in the freezer to bulk it up a bit more, ready for next week's lunches Hmm, worked out ok. Will do for work lunches I guess.
- Meal plan and prepare an online shop
- Paid £100 off c/c - remembered I had £100 in premium bonds from last year!
- Phoned sister with 'free calls at the weekend'. Will email her if I need to get in touch during the week.
Be back in touch next weekend folks!
Happy Sunday
