Grants and human rights

Options
I feel that my human rights are being breached as I am not entitled to grants, free dental care etc. This is not based on my income but on the income of my parents. I am an adult now but I am treated differently based on my origin. Anyone feels the same and has an idea what we can do about it?

I think ONW adequately sums up my view on this as well.
As an 'adult' I presume you mean you're over 18? Which whilst that does legally class you as an adult, you're unlikely to have ever put much into the economy in terms of taxes, N.I. contributions etc... therefore why should you get anything back?
I think the phrase 'human rights' is vastly overused. All humans (and other living things) need to live is: heat, water and food - these should be the basic human rights. Everything else is bonus and as not everyone has these thngs I think complaining about your grants etc... being based on your parents income as a breach of your human rights is ridiculous. Dental care is based on the income of your household, if you care to move out and stand on your own two feet you'd probably get it.

Oh and in some countries (think France may be one but not convinced that's right) you are your parents responsibility until you move out of their protection regardless of how old you are....
Speaking to a friend, this was actually a news story of countries considering a law indicating this as a way of encouraging people to stand on their own feet rather than something which was already happening. I can't find the details so probably worth discounting. Sorry

they clearly have no clue what human rights are.

I hate it when people try to use "human rights" when they have no real clue what they are and what they mean.

Access to higher education is a human right, so if a person can prove the system poses a barrier to higher education (eg. you can get absolutely no financial help) then you could arguably have a valid point. But to my knowledge, doesn't everyone have access to at least some student loans regardless of parental income?

Edit: Free dental is not a human right (pensioners do not receive free dental in England).

There is no human right to educate those over the age of 18 or those classed as adults in this country or in the EU.

There is however a tradition of tax payers paying for the education of those over the age of 18 in this country. However if the government decides tax payers cannot afford to make this contribution like in the US then this will no longer happen.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p
